A colorful (Indi)Blogger Meet – #BergerXP

For those of us who are working home-makers, weekends are busier than weekdays. Laundry, some cooking, cleaning, usual chores and micro-managing the help at home tops the charts. However, this Saturday was different. I set aside all my mundane plans to attend the #BergerXP Indiblogger Bangalore Meet. And it would be an exaggeration to say that I had a really fun-filled Saturday with friends.

In true IndiBlogger style, the meet was well planned and organized. A limited number of bloggers were invited to attend this meet and know about Berger Paints and Berger Paints’ Express Painting service. This is an innovation in the field and no surprise that as many as 15000 homes have now been painted using this technique in the last one year*

What is Express Painting? Simple. A technologically advanced method that is 40% faster than the age-old method of painting. Vacuum suction machines that keep the house free of dust, trained staff contracted from your nearby locality and tools that give better results. What’s the cherry on the cake? No additional costs involved.

Our day began post noon with coffee followed by lunch. Though the food was just okay, it was enough to get us going towards the day. A session after lunch is most dreaded. Isn’t it? So, we all warmed up with this fun balloon activity – save your balloon and burst the other. Well, when someone stomped on my shoes, I lost the battle. Those ten minutes were good icebreakers for the day ahead.

Well, my red is behind me and those curves need to be worked on.

Chandranath Banerjee from Berger Paints knew his content well. Without the help of any slides or a fancy deck, his talk was a good mix of facts, examples, and their core technology. He kept the session light with the latest TV commercial and was able to catch the attention of all. The Q&A that followed showed that he had got many homeowners interested in his product. Who wouldn’t want a faster, cleaner and better painting done at home?

My twitter timeline clearly showed my mood. Without textured walls, I now want to tell my owner to try this product from Berger Paints.

The best way to learn things is to experience it. This is exactly what Berger Paints and IndiBlogger had planned for the bloggers.  In our own teams of five, first we learnt how to scrub a wooden block and smoothen it. With a sandpaper in hand, we cleaned our piece of wood and warmed up to the idea that painting is not just coloring. It means cleaning and getting the wall ready for a fresh coat.

Then the team of Berger Paints explained to us how to mix color with the right concentration and we were ready to roll. All the teams had to pick a theme and then paint in twenty minutes. We called ourselves Berger BFFs and Vidya our captain was also our creative head. Along with the team, we painted the ‘Incredible Colors of India’. It was a joy to see our idea take the form of colors and represent what we had thought it to. Though we did not win the first prize, we loved the experience of getting our hands dirty.

Berger BFFs

Indiblogger showed us some love with a fun group picture, the mannequin challenge and we left for our homes with a lot of memories. Meeting my blogging buddies as we close the year was yet another highlight for me. Thank you, Berger Paints and IndiBlogger for a good time!

  12. What a great time you guys had. Loved the pictures. I dread paining so much that I have been getting it done a room at a time each year. I hate that the house is messed up and out-of-action for so long. I love the idea of express paining. It seems doable.
