#MicroblogMondays – A Day Once In Four Years

29th February - Once in four years..
29th February – Once in four years..

Today is 29th February, a day that comes once every four years and for this blog, it’s a first such day.

What did you do today to make it special? Did you take a day off or did you party to celebrate?

Let me tell you, I did nothing special cos I believe every day is special. Your attitude makes it special and how you deal with it makes it memorable.

It’s important to be a better person than you were yesterday and learn something new each day. It’s wonderful make someone smile and leave you feeling better.

When I tell you this today, I am also reminding myself to make every day special.

  1. Love! What a great way to celebrate an extra day by making it extra special. I really think it should be a holiday, a chance to do something you don’t normally have time to do, like a flex day. Today was really no different than any other day for me, no special event or traditions or anything. But I have four years to come up with something for the next one… Ha!

  2. When I saw the message on Facebook about making 29th Feb a special day, I thought what does Facebook want me to do with this day, how can I make it special. It went off like any other day. Reading your post makes me realize – Oh yes that was the first such day for my blog too and it will come back in another 4 years time as I am going nowhere from the blogging space 🙂

  3. 29th February is a very special day for devotees and disciples of the Mother and Sri Aurobindo. So here in Pondicherry Ashram it is celebrated as a Darshan day. So for us it was definitely a special day, much more special than all the other days 🙂 I even did a post about it.

    That’s a great philosophy.

  5. It’s a good idea to make every day special whatever that definition may mean for you. I took the day off not because it was the 29th but because I just wanted to chill.

  6. Well the husband cooked awesome palak paneer, so that was special and then we watched Tehkikaat … remember the old DD Metro serial 😀 We didn’t plan anything… it just happened 🙂

  7. Well said, Parul! Make everyday special! I didn’t do anything great either! Regular routine day, only tried remembering what I did on the last 29th Feb…couldn’t remember, must have been equally insignificant! 😉

  9. I didn’t do anything special. The day was actually pretty terrible, and then it got away from me. Maybe I’ll plan a do-over 4 years from now?

  11. Excellent idea, Parul! I felt bad that I didn’t do anything to commemorate the day, but I like the thought of instead focusing on making every day special. Thank you!

  12. Lovely message. 🙂 Wanted to make it a different day but ended up doing the regular, mundane stuff. 😀 So I guess, only the variety in my thought counts as something ‘different’ for the leap day.

  13. It would surely have been a special day for those who celebrate their birthdays on this day ;).

But for me it was just a normal mundane day like any other.
