Sunday Punch #54

Reading is a joy. It’s a passion. It is also a hobby. Reading transports you in to a different world and most of the people I know love to read. People seek recommendations, set out goals for themselves and many enjoy re-reading books.

I also track books I want to read and I have read on GoodreadsShantala, a fellow blogger has even got an awesome Bookish Bingo on her blog that she will follow through 2016. I know bloggers who have taken up reading challenges and they have already made some good progress.

So, for the love of books I have got you Top 10 most read books in the world.

Top 10 Most Read Books in the World [Infographic] - An Infographic from BestInfographics.co

Embedded from BestInfographics.co

I have a low count on this – just 3/10. How many have you read out of these 10?

  1. Not bad. I’ve got 6 🙂
Well, the most read books don’t automatically mean they’re the best either. As long as we continue reading good books, we’re all winning 🙂

  2. Done 6 off that list, Parul. (Wish it were all 10 though 🙂 Do intend to pick up on my reading this year while I juggle quite a few things. Nice infographic btw!

  3. Wow, apart from the Bible (which I’ve never read ALL the way through!), I’ve only read two of the books on that list. I am ashamed to say it, considering the fact that I am a reader!

  4. If “read in part” counts, I’ve read six of these. Harry Potter, considering how much my son loved these books, was a series I could never get into. I quit the first book before finishing it. I also quit the Da Vinci Code before finishing it – and have never read The Bible in full.

  5. Hey that was an interesting mix – top most read books! I have read 5 of those, in addition to parts of the 6th- the bible… I have a thought that I want to do more reading too:-) Great post!

  6. Wow.. I have read 4 of them – HP, DaVinci Code, Anne Frank and Gone with the Wind. I loved the movies of LOTR, Twilight. The other four are non-fiction. I am not keen to read them.

  7. Okay, so I’ve read three of these and the Bible, but not quite right through. I don’t see myself reading anything more from the list, either! I guess Chairman Mao’s made it here because of the large Chinese population! 😉

  8. Ok, so I have read three from this list – Gone with the Wind, The Alchemist and Diary of Anne Frank.
Too bad the list doesn’t include any non-western book, other than the one about Mao’s quotes! Says something about the ‘marketability’ factor of writing and publishing industry, no? 🙂

  9. Five and a half for me 🙂 Couldn’t get through LOTR after a point. Don’t think I will read any other except perhaps Gone with the Wind some day. Ah, some day.

  10. Like Sid said, the most read books does not mean they are the best.. Seeing Twilight in the list makes me squirm somehow.. I’ve read say.. 8 of them.. make it 8 and a quarter, because I stopped the twilight series with the first book, and haven’t read how to grow rich by Napoleon Hill.

  11. I got 6 on this one. This year I am planning to read some more of Patricia Cornwall’s series… been doing that since last year. And currently hooked on Alphabet Series by Sue Grafton. Will keep me busy for a while 😀
