“What does natural mean?
Means non-artificial. Made by nature.
But nature can’t make things. It’s not a person.
Nature is the things that aren’t made by people.
But we’re made by people, so what does that make us? Are we artificial?”
― Rob Davis
When I spotted this huge plant in a pot, I couldn’t believe it was natural. So I touched and smelt the leaves. It was. Real and alive. I will call this a tree in a pot. Wouldn’t you agree?
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature on this blog. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Next week, I will link your posts on my blog and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.
Before you go, don’t forget to check the lovely trees that were shared last week on #ThursdayTreeLove – 15:
- Angela’s shot of the mini forest
- Alana post on lovely green trees from New York
- Esha’s favorite corner in the park she walks
- Mayuri’s shot from Mysore’s Brindavan gardens
- Natasha’s towering treasures
- Solitary tree in Hampi, shot by Balaka
- Sunita spotted this dead tree and shares a beautiful message
- Tall trees on the way to Rocky Mountains as Ramya spotted them
- Thulasithara at Vinitha’s in-laws place
Lovely tree in a pot, Parul. Hmm…the quote made me think. I should think that we are also a part of the living, real all-pervading nature. Definitely not artificial, that’s for sure! 🙂

That’s a profound thought. We are certainly made by our choices and circumstances. But that does not make us artificial. I like this tree in a pot!!

Oh my God !! awesome click and very thought provoking quote, I would say yes to a certain extent we are made by people who surrounded us as we grew up and in process we lose our true identity and do become artificial 🙂 it takes a lot of courage to gently unwrap and gradually to find ourselves… am sure we are all in process in encountering our natural self:)

I bought a young bonsai once (a small tree in a pot). I didn’t keep it alive for that long – it’s a skill beyond me. Is a bonsai artificial? Perhaps yes and no. Your, tree, of course is much larger than a bonsai but teaches us that we are all bound by our environments and the cultures we grow up in. Here’s my post: https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2017/07/willow-tree-thursday-tree-love.html

I would like to say that Bonsai is real but I get your point. I loved how you thought that we are all bound by our environment. Thank you for joining Alana.

Though the site is pretty because its different… my heart goes out to the roots…how crammed they might be feeling…no room for self growth yet have to support the growing upper part!!! Is it not symbolic of what life has become now for many…
