Wordless Wednesday #33

Jorge Alvares is credited as the first European explorer to have reached China and Hong Kong by sea.

I clicked this picture when we visited Macau and at that time, I wasn’t aware of the history. It’s fascinating to know that Alvares reached China in 16th century and his statue reminds many generations after him of his expedition.
