Z for Zilch #AtoZChallenge

ZilchAs this challenge draws to a close today, I can’t help but wonder that it was a zilch. Yes, a lot of research went into figuring out the many initiatives that exist. All so awesome and I was pressed for choices. But there is so much more than what meets the eye.

There are so many people we don’t even know who are changing things and doing their bit to make the world a better place. They have no agenda and no hidden interests. They are the real heroes. The people who will never be on the front page of a newspaper or talk of the world but what they are doing, no one else is.

There are people who have limited means but that hasn’t limited their efforts. There are those who smile when others do and whose hearts weep for others. The true philanthropists. The ones who have given up a comfortable life to make someone else’s life comfortable. Sometimes with a solar lamp and sometimes with an affordable sanitary napkin.

What are we doing?

Are we letting go our remaining days without making a difference?

If yes, NO.

That’s not the way to live life. Get up and do something that makes your life more meaningful. Bring a smile on someone’s face. Be kind and leave people feeling better about themselves after they talk to you. Be gentle with children and gentler with adults. Remember that an eye for an eye will leave the world blind. Practice patience and be tolerant. Be the person who you would like to see around.

25 topics are a zilch in front of the many that are still not documented. This big world has many voices that need to be heard. Let’s hear out people. Let’s never tell them they can’t do something but always encourage. Be your best every single day cos, in the end, nothing else will matter.

So what if we are a zilch in this big world? A change is in our hands. In yours and mine.

Yes, there are so many heroes! For sure.. There are people who make others smile, including their family and strangers, donate and help their staff with every possible thing, but don’t go out to the NGO’s to do it, or improve the situation of their homes, help their elders and children and handle everything… aren’t they the heroes as well?

    Great post 🙂

    Cheers

I hope I made a few people smile this month. I know getting comments has made me happy, and Twitter chats made me happy, so I know I’ve received happiness. Hopefully, I’ve managed to give it as well.
