A lot has been said about front benchers and the back benchers.
The ones who sit at the front are nerds, don’t have fun, are teachers’ favorites, are always competing to be the best and so on. The back benchers on the other hand have a lot of fun, their know it all attitude shows off during the classes, they are capable of driving the teacher nuts and they of course are the intelligent lot!
As most of us might have observed – surprisingly, the BBs are better scorers than the FBs.
Looking back to my school days – I remember being the front bencher and super attentive during lectures. I know I was known as the obedient and never wanna have fun type of girl! I too wanted to have fun in the class but not at the expense of my learning. Hence, as I used to enter the class, I use to leave friends behind and take the brain along with my bag. During college years, I realized it is fun being in the middle – you certainly learn (I make it a point to take back something useful out of a class) and when the teacher can’t grab your attention, the back benchers will help you have a good time! You can munch nuts and still show off how focused you are.
Today, at my Yoga class, I was suddenly at the front and I found it boring. Having one in the front and two behind is indeed better. To my surprise, I have never heard anything about the ones sitting on the middle benches and it indeed sounds a little odd – but trust me! The more I think about it, the more I love sitting in the middle! 🙂
