Simple things in life are such a great inspiration. It’s just a matter of perspective and how you look at things. I have been a little tired over a couple of days and may be the FIFA fever is now getting better. Last evening, I was lamely surfing the net thinking about should I switch on the TV, cook chapattis, get on to edit Wikipedia etc. when I came across this post on FB.

This post made me smile (the way heart smiles!)and I really felt that it’s all in attitude. I know that retirement brings in a lot of emotions for those who have been working throughout their lives. I do understand that it suddenly changes a person’s morning, afternoon or how the entire day looks. It’s a seal and a stamp on life’s envelope that reads “You have grown old”.
I know I am far off but someday, we all will get there. We will reach a day when there will be no longer an office to get ready for. May be life will stand still and grey hair will not need any color. When looking back, the last 59 years will feel like a lifetime. What will you do when you step into those shoes? Here’s what I would suggest – Smile about what wonderful work life you had, get ready and find yourself the next venture to keep you busy, occupied, satisfied and independent for the years to come. Share your learnings with people around and tell your tales. Laugh with kids and be receptive to change. Participate and keep learning to leave the world a better place.
Someday, I will also try and find a job for myself – or I will become a full-time blogger or be on a talk show sharing stories and experiences or be a guest lecturer at some institute or God knows what!
Even better, I will never retire. 🙂
Indeed a great inspiration to call it a day!
eggjactlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy .. why retire
and I tell you age is just a number , I do much more than what i did when i was 20.. it’s all in the heart .. so if you keep the heart young everything is young 🙂

Age might just take away few things owing to the new super found physical strength but what it can’t take away is the life, zeal, and the young heart. The day is way far away but I won’t retire either 🙂
Good one Parul 🙂

Good thoughts, I enjoyed reading your post and thank you for commenting on mine. Of course I am already 60+ but am learning to enjoy my time off and staying productive. It is indeed all about attitude. http://thatsaltygirl.blogspot.com/2014/11/my-thoughts-on-getting-older.html
