The Spoonbridge and Cherry is the center piece of the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
It was erected in 1985 and since then, it has remained one of the most iconic landmarks of the city. It looks beautiful with the backdrop of the blue sky and the bright red cherry.
Did you notice the rainbow? That one, in particular, was a cherry on the spoon for me.

Linking today’s post to Wordless Wednesday and this is my #47.
Lovely, the cherry looks delicious. Btw, is the building in the background titled (the ones on the right look straight)?

Not sure, Alok. May be my Minneapolis friends can answer that. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

This is an amazing piece of architecture. I liked how the spoon touches the water and the cherry balancing on it.
I am glad you are back to the world of blogging. I am sure you had a wonderful time discovering new places, leaving the last leg of your trip from Shimla to Delhi.

Wow! What a delightful piece of modern architecture! The cherry looks temptingly delicious…and seeing it in the actual scale must be quite an experience! I noticed the rainbow only after reading your lines, though. 😀

I remember the spoon and cherry from long ago. For some reason I thought I took pictures of it in the early 80s or late 70s, I guess it’s all a blur to me. Thanks for pointing out the rainbow.

I thought I had gone blind. I couldn’t find the rainbow at first. This is too pretty. The Spoon bridge. Is it like a walkable bridge or just a tourist attraction?

It’s not a walkable one. But yes, it’s pretty and so well maintained:)
