This year, I visited the famous Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi after 18 years. While I have tried many times, this was the first time things fell in place.
Photography isn’t allowed in the temple and though I was slightly disappointed, this picture of the prasad (food offering) will remain with me. The holy basil and marigold over the hand rolled besan ladoos in a white box, felt like good old days.

This post is compiled for WordlessWednesday (#50 for me),Β One Word Sunday hosted by DebbieΒ and Cee’s Flower of the Day.
Simple pleasures of life, Parul!

We had a marigold plant in our yard but it dried out this summer. I really love those bright colors of that flower π¦

Thank you for joining in for WordlessWednesday, Parul! A simple picture sometimes conveys a lot, as yours does, this week. Marigolds I’ve associated with worshipping whether at home or in the temple. Loved this post.

Marigold and basil are associated with holy practices, isn’t it? I am glad the prasad lifted up your spirits.

Superb! Such a vibrant colour and it stays that way for many days. I find that Laddoos as prasad somehow always taste divine.. totally different from regular ones.. I wonder why…
