“Some people get an education without going to college. The rest get it after they get out.”
― Mark Twain

Last year when I was visiting my in-laws, VT took me to his college. Right opposite this tree, a new food joint had come up. So to feel like college students, we ordered something and sat under this tree chatting about life in general. There comes a time in life when we want to go back to the life we have left behind. Just for that little moment, we want to feel how it felt then.
Does this happen to you too?
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature on this blog hosted on 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The next edition will be live on February 28, 2019. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog and link it back to this post.
If you don’t see the pingback, please leave a link to your post in my comments section. Please make sure that your post’s link is showing up on this latest edition. I will link your posts on my blog in the next edition and spread some love. Let’s come together to appreciate the beautiful nature around us.

Yes parul, I went with my friends to our college and sat on the rocks and we endlessly chatted for two hours and were so happy that we were part of this institution, gave me immense happiness – we went around identifying our favourite places – library, canteen, basket ball court, places where we had lunch:) I loved your quote – I have met people who are successful without going to college, as life has taught them lessons books have not:) here ‘s my post:https://livealifeofgratitude.blogspot.com/2019/02/tree-love51.html

See what I said about your quote selection last time was so right. This time too it applies perfectly to the context of the tree. What is a photo of a tree or otherwise without a small write-up or a perfectly matching quote. I happen to love your tree posts also because of the quotes. The red and blue dustbins add character to the photo.

I’ve been touching on the life I left behind as I clean out my parents’ attic. If I could go back, I’d want to take the experience of age along and be less anxious. Speaking of experience, it’s was way more useful than college, though college was a good knowledge base. Eating under a tree is always a simplistic joy to my heart as i have had several picnic lunches under trees in remote, wild places. You have made me experience that again through your post Parul! 🙂

One of the pleasures in life is revisiting memories–nothing is more uplifting than that – some memories are learning experiences and some –we yearn to repeat them. How lovely that you got to visit VT’s college and perhaps share stories!

Oh, it happens so many times, that I wish to go back to those good old days when I was young…and make a few changes in the decisions I made and rectify all the mistakes I made. Sigh. But, that can never happen, so I just imagine how it would be, going back to the past. 🙂

That’s a thought Shilpa that needs a post. I am sure I would fix a lot of things but I would also let a lot more things stay as is. Imperfect. There is joy in that too.

I love revisiting the past, Parul and often grab any opportunity to go back to places that hold even a tiny bit of significance for me. I can imagine how special it must have been for VT to bring you back to his college days as you both sat under the tree! Some memories will always remain special, right?
