My stall, my rules

Looking into my Hong Kong travel archives, I found this picture that I had clicked.

I remember walking down the street one morning when I spotted this stall and the guy engrossed in what looked like his reading ritual. I smiled and quickly snapped one before I moved on. In the middle of morning rush, there is nothing better than finding out what’s up with the world.

  1. How cool it is to be surrounded by books and newspapers, have time to read them and be the instrument in spreading the love of the written words to others too! A fab capture, Parul!

  2. That looks like a guy who enjoys reading and he will always have plenty to grab his attention I bet! Thank you so much for joining us for #ww this week, Parul! Love your photo-posts that always have a lovely back story to them.

  3. Really impressive shot, Parul. Really does look like reading is his ritual each morning…and maybe for most of the day too. A humble job, but a job where he can learn heaps about the world. In a world where so many of us get our news and information online, it’s amazing how shops like these in Asia still thrive 🙂

  4. Look at the busy stall! The guy is sitting amidst that crowd doing his thing without a care. Good capture, Parul. I love how you manage to capture the story rather than a photo every single time. That’s a talent. ❤

  5. To see a reader in a book and newspaper seller is a good sight. Whenever I see such a stall or a make shift shop, I can’t help but thinking about how arduous it must be at the end of the day to wind up everythinng, to take away the planks (used as shelves), the stools beneath them and putting back all the stuff inside the shack.
