When I was on the way to my hometown last Diwali, we stopped at a small shop for a quick tea break. While Mum and Papa were at the shop deciding what to buy, I looked around and spotted another shop where a man was working. His house ( a small mud house) was behind the shop and in his own way, he looked content.
I started a quick conversation and got to know that he spent a big part of his life in Jaipur running a small tea shop. Then age caught up and he moved back home in Uttar Pradesh. I asked if I could click his picture while making tea and he agreed. I tried multiple shots but either the light or the angle wasn’t right. So I laughed at my incompetency, zoomed in and clicked a portrait. I liked it so I showed the picture to him.
He smiled and said, “He looks like me.”
I told him that cameras are good like that. We laughed and I bade adieu.

Linking with Esha and Natasha for #WordlessWednesday today and this is #83 for me.

I also catch up with people around where we stop while traveling. It is interesting to know their lifestyle and reason to be happy in what they have. And yes, cameras are tricky.

Love this one, Parul for its sheer simplicity and candidness. His pan stained teeth and that weather beaten face has so many stories to tell. Absolutely fab to have you link up with us in our new #WW season. ❤

I find that interesting too. I never thought I could talk to strangers but I see that with age I’m changing.

You have a fine hand at photography, Parul and I have to agree with this man’s sentiment when he said ‘He looks like me’. It must have been unbelievable for him for he might not ever had a photo clicked. I also love the fact how easily you stop on the way to talk to random people and click their photos.
