“The harder the work, the sweeter the fruits.” ~ Abhijit Naskar
I have shared such Jackfruit laden trees before but every time I see one, I find them very cute and happy. I found this on my morning walk and there was also a sign warning people to not pluck these fruits. The lane was full of fragrance of the ripened fruit and it felt like the season for the tree.
I like Jackfruit as a vegetable and my grandmother (Nani) used to make pickles out of them that used to be delicious. Do you like Jackfruits?

Great quote and a beautiful tree! I’ve enjoyed jackfruit as a meat substitute in vegetarian dishes and would like to try it more often. Here’s my latest tree love: Tree Love on the Rocks | Anything is Possible!

Yes, in India too many people prepare it like a meat and it turns out delicious. Thanks JoAnna

Maybe they grow in region that accommodates their growth. I have seen them in both Eastern and Southern India. I don’t know if they would survive West or the cold North. Thanks, Lin!

Wonderful but i must admit the odour of fallen ripe fruit can be overwhelming! Raw jackfruit cooked into a vegetable is a delicacy! Here is my tree from your city https://yenforblue.blogspot.com/2025/06/the-great-banyan-thursdaytreelove.html

I know what you mean. I think the odor grows on you. Being here in Bangalore for now over 2 decades, I don’t feel as strongly as I used to when I first came 😊

What a beautiful tree. I have never seen one like it. I’ve never seen a jackfruit either. I wish I could smell it. 🙂

It’s been a while since I saw a jackfruit tree laden with the fruit. We make chips and side-dishes with it when it’s unripe. And when it’s ripe — I love eating it as a fruit. Thank you for hosting, Parul.

Thanks Divya! I love it as a vegetable and a pickle but the fully ripe one – I am still developing that taste. 🙂

It looked like a lot of Jackfruits there, Parul. I haven’t had Jackfruit in a long time. It has quite a unique taste, and I remember I didn’t mind eating it. Just not all the time back in South-East Asia. I hope you get to have some as they are in season where you are. Hope you are doing well, Parul 😊
