Your Dreams #MicroblogMondays

  1. Indeed a very good movie. However, way before this movie came in. A line from the movie Khamoshi (Manisha Koirala and Salman) etched into my young mind that ‘One should always have an impossible dream in life. A dream which the world thinks is impossible for you to achieve but only you know deep inside that you can.’ I believe no dream is impossible. If we are determined and focused and patient we can achieve anything. I can proudly say that I have already conquered the impossible dream of my life (I can’t reveal it), but it’s a proud feeling.

This was such a sweet little movie with a simple message to follow one’s dreams in a day and age when we were are constantly bombarded with larger than life movies and messages. This quote was truly inspirational :).

” …don’t forget to stay loyal to these dreams. If not you, who will?” This spoke to me, and was very relevant to my life at the moment. Thanks for the reminder.

  5. Vinitha says:

I agree, we should have dreams and must remain loyal to them. I don’t share my dreams with others because I can’t take advice on how stupid my dreams are and why I should stop dreaming them. Have experience in that regard. Thanks for reminding this truth, Parul. As we grow up, we tend to forgo our dreams and even forget to dream. This is a timely piece. 🙂 Will watch the movie. 🙂

Thanks for saying that! I have been a bit worried as I did not hear from folks.
That was a dream to redo the website on my own 🙂 I’m so glad!

I will connect with you later this year probably when I change the looks of my blog, Parul. My site was messy yesterday when I updated the existing theme. But spending more than 15 minutes in front of the screen is making me dizzy. Some how I managed to get rid of the clutter as of now. I don’t want to get into the techy stuff now as it would be a whole lot difficult for me to deal with now. You have done beautifully, Parul. The changes in color are make it perfect. And I love the font too. Which is it BTW?

          • Parul Thakur says:

Thanks Vinitha! Let me know if you need help. It takes time but it was fun to explore and do it on my own 🙂
The font is a default one called Source Sans Pro 🙂

  6. Bingo Parul. It’s the truth about dreams and we gotta belief, fly like the birds to reach our destination. It’s time to get rid of negative people who lack the guts and blame everything on limits of society or accepting it as the holy grain of life. I often get that, your parents have done so much for you and still you wanna leave and chase your dreams. This perspective is so flawed.

Many of us don’t go by the free advice; rather we prefer to pay hefty amount to listen to leaders, who also speak the same.

    So, thank you!

Inspirational post, Parul. That is a great conversation towards the end of the movie. Our dreams are ours and ours to make. They start in our minds, in our hands and we all have a choice as to whether we want to take a step in the right direction to make them a reality. There may be the naysayers around us but they can say what they want to say – we can walk away and let them be and be happy on our own way 🙂

  10. Trablogger says:

Beautiful picture to go along with a powerful advice.

  11. Aditi says:

So true! Dreams are all we have and no one can take them away from us 🙂

  12. Mel says:

I think it depends on the dream. So many dreams either come with gatekeepers or require someone else to participate in your dream. I think there are things we can do to ensure they won’t happen, but sometimes there is nothing we can do to make them happen.

  13. As I read this post, the movie Nil Batte Sannata is getting downloaded in the background. Isn’t it a coincidence? 🙂 Do you remember on one of my posts about asking son’s teachers to visit us at home in order to make his small wish come true, you had mentioned about ‘what about our wishes and dreams, my dreams and your dreams as well, ‘ Yours was the most compelling comment on that post which led me into seriously thinking – Have I stopped dreaming for myself and what about my earlier ones? And now that I can see some of them getting true, it gives me the impetus to dream more. Thanks for again reminding me and the readers to dream. Dreaming is the first step to act.

though i have not seen the movie but its true about dreams that we should see the dreams . even A.P.J. Kalam also said that every body should see dreams with open eyes .

  15. Definitely on my to-watch list, this one. It’s about mom and daughter. How can I not watch it? 😉

Our dreams are precious and they must be nurtured. Hope everyone comes to that realisation sooner than later.

  16. Totally agree…even though some people may try and crush our dreams, in the end, we are still in control of them! I need to chase a lot more of my dreams. I think I’ve let life get in the way.

As you know I have been looking for motivation to continue blogging and this theme kept popping up everywhere. I read an article along these lines, saw another movie similar to this and finally this post. 🙂 We really don’t know when our posts will inspire someone. This one did. 🙂

  18. So true..No one can take away our dream from us..no one 🙂

  19. Dashy says:

Ah yes, sometimes we keep searching for mentors to come and help us through to the top, forgetting that we ourselves can be our best mentor. That is some great advice, and I’ll surely look out for the movie. 🙂

  23. Oh I agree. The unfortunate part is that as we grow older we dismiss our dreams for being ‘just dreams’ and that’s where the cynicism sets in.

  24. Traci York says:

I would definitely agree! Lovely inspiration – thanks!
