I can’t believe this is the 200th post of the Thursday Tree Love. It has been a lovely journey with you all tree lovers and I am so grateful for this small community we have built. You all have supported me even when I haven’t showed up. That’s the kindness that keeps us all going. When we are open to what comes our way and assuming the most positive intent for each other.
Today’s tree is from a place that I wish no one has to go. It is a cremation house in Bhopal, India. My friend lost her mother and I was at this place and with my friend for all the rituals.
Peepal trees are associated with spirits and I wonder how many souls has this tree seen. How many families have come near this tree and mourned their loved ones. But there is one thing that is true. We are dust and that’s what we turn to when the soul leaves the body. Nothing remains. When I saw this lush green tree in the compound, I wanted to not forget this day and the fact that I am not even a speck when my time comes.
