Writing a B-O-O-K

It’s a BIG thing! When I was thirteen, I wanted to write a book and become the youngest author. Looking back, I realize that have been writing a lot since I can’t remember when. Sometimes it were the school essays, sometimes for debates and sometimes to help out others. But my writing was never organized. I wrote in my personal diary, sometimes behind my school/college notebook and sometimes on a sheet of paper hidden in a text-book. When IndiSpire Edition 10 came up with the question “Do you wish to write a book? What would you write about first? #WritingWishList”, I knew I have to write about this topic. But see – it took me good 5 days to do so.

I personally believe that all human beings are authors and each one of us is writing her own book of life. Life is a lot what happens to us and a lot more of what we make of it. The way we progress, grow, change, adjust, love, hate, fight, survive, settle are the various chapters of this book of life and it is up to us to make it enjoyable for ourselves and for those who are on this journey with us.

Writing a book is a full-time job in itself and you need to know exactly what you want to write. Being focused will help you do justice to the effort and to the end users. A couple of months back, I was asked to write a chapter for a book but I declined and today too I feel I am not yet ready. The topic, the content and of course the emotional quotient should be aligned when deciding to write. Writing is like breathing. If you don’t do it right you will suffocate.

If I ever write, maybe I will write about myself and about my life. There are a lot of interesting stories here and there and I think it would be an interesting read for those who grab a copy. Writing a book is all about expressing and hence even blogging is a medium. It at all I write a book, it will be because this blog inspired me to.

On a lighter note: Today is Allah Rakha’s 95th birthday and there is an awesome Google doodle on the search engine. I too wish to be immortalized like a google doodle as below! 😀
