“Scribble your heart away” is a beautiful campaign and I was referred to Matrikas who own this campaign by Ranjini.

All that was required to do was to fill up and submit a simple registration form stating the name of the referrer. In all our busy schedules and day-to-day chores, we sometimes forget many things that we do and I too had totally forgotten about filling any such form from Matrikas. A couple of days later when I got back home after work, my apartment guard handed over a BIG heavy parcel. The first thought that came to me was, what did I order online that I don’t even remember?? I explored the pack looking for the retailer’s name but there was none. Confused yet knowing it was for me, I ripped the packing and then came the real moment of joy.

With a personal note inside the packaging, this was a set of four notebooks sent by Matrikas. I love notebooks and pens and anything that gets me closer to writing. Digital ways have taken over writing these days but I think otherwise. I still write a lot and use notebooks to some extent. I have not yet let the keyboard take away my pens or the word documents take away my notebook. So, this was a wonderful surprise.

What I loved about the 4 notebooks?

• It was a good mix of notebook, planner, journal and ring diary
• The colors and the paper quality were good. The doodles were cute and smart enough to bring out the child in every adult who chooses to pick the product.
• I felt that a lot of effort was put in to design these products. There were messages inside the diary and even the planner had a subtle pastel colored theme.
• Matrikas also planned the campaign meticulously to send bloggers stuff that they could relate to. I remember picking Mother Teresa’s name out of a list of people I admire and I received a notebook with her picture on it. So, it’s not just about advertising but connecting to the consumer’s choices and tastes.

How will I use these products?

As I mentioned, I am a great fan of notebooks and journals. I have notebooks for almost everything possible – my office work, my travel diary, my happiness pink pages, my living room notebook, my kitchen grocery book, my recipe notebook and what not. When I was growing up, I had one to list down birthdays and anniversaries of family and relatives.

If I ever have to gift such stuff, I would turn to Matrikas. Having seen other brands in the market, I like the pricing of the products too.

I also went on to explore their website and realized that it has been designed with a lot of attention to detail. The colors are chosen carefully and hence even if you are looking at content to read, it is easy on the eyes. A logo of the company with a simple liner about the reason for choosing the name “Matrikas” has also been mentioned on the homepage. The layout of the website is simple and easy to navigate. Not just this, knowing the importance of social media, a Facebook link is also up on the main page.
