“Solitude vivifies; isolation kills”
Joseph Roux
Solitude to me is time with self. It’s an opportunity to block your own calendar and turn up on time to meet the most important person of your life and the only one you cannot live without. It’s time to introspect, to be grateful about all that you have, to challenge yourself, set goals for life and to get back to the chaos with full zeal.
Solitude is not loneliness and we must know that we are all alone in this world. We may have loved ones around but we are by our selves each day and every moment. Never feel depressed if you feel lonely for solitude brings out the best in you. Watching it rain, hearing the birds chirping at a distance, feeling my own breath are those little things that I do in solitude. I also write, let my words express my emotions and sometimes I just watch people walking from my balcony. When I watch the moon and I know it’s lonely up there but don’t we all love it?
This picture was clicked last year and though I was with VT and a friend, walking alone for sometime at this beach was a moment of solitude. I felt the sand beneath my feet and just walked till my legs said no.

This post is a response to the Day 5 of Daily Post’s Photography 101 and today’s theme is Solitude.
I am participating in National Blog Posting Month – NaBloPoMo, and this is Post #7, a pledge to write daily during November to hone my skills, challenge myself, and taking this blog to the next level. Wish me luck and share ideas that you would want to read!

Those rocks add such texture and color which add a great deal to the image composition. (could signify the rocky interruptions of life). Also nice is that small figure on the rock jetty. All the lines and shapes lead the viewer’s eye across the picture.
You captured the feeling well

You worded that beautifully and I can only agree. I couldn’t live without regular doses of solitude. Have a lovely Saturday.

solitude is good only for a short span of period on the contrary we need space also for us .

Solitude is introvert’s sauce and loner’s shield… Btw, this photo is too closely taken to match with the theme… it had good potential though

I agree. This is not a perfect shot. You are the expert here and I had not choice than to use an old one 😦

No man! Out of the five days of the photo101 challenge, this is an only pic which is an old one but being in office 10 hours a day, it’s hard to hunt for pics

I would say that all of us need our moments to be away from the big bad world out there. Moments of peace and quiet away from everyone even our nearest friends and family to reflect on the things happening in our lives.
Loved the pic. Can imagine the sound of the waves hitting the shore, some birds chirping nearby and a cool breeze blowing. Must be a lovely experience :).

Bingo! yep – we all need the “me” time!
Regarding the place – this is Kappad beach in Kerala – the place where Vasco-Da-Gama landed and India was discovered. Since, it is not a big touristy place, there were hardly any souls. We loved our time on this beach! May be you should travel and check this one out! 🙂 Also check out https://happinessandfood.wordpress.com/2013/12/28/unplanned-and-unexplored/ I loved this place and it was so secluded that it even scared me!

The place looks awesome. It feels so relaxing in such spots and being far away from the hustle and bustle of city life. On the other hand, yeah these places could be good spots for shooting some horror movies ;).
I remember such a place in Singapore. Guess should blog about it before I forget :P.
