Very Inspiring Blog Award

Very Inspiring Blogger Award
Very Inspiring Blogger Award

Inspiration is a beautiful thing. It makes you work harder, achieve your goals and keeps you going forever. Some people draw inspiration from within and some externally. Whatever may be the source, it becomes a matter of pride when a fellow blogger nominates you for the prestigious “Very Inspiring Blog Award”. When Shashank who blogs on “Embark with my thoughts” nominated me for this award, I was puffed up. I agree, I took a little time to blog about this and comply by the rules of the award but I feel that the time is now. My blog has matured over the last three months and is not a toddler any more – 112 posts and counting, I feel good but I also know there is a long way to go! There are tons of posts to be written to bring happiness and food for thought. Shashank, thank you so much for this form of recognition and know that I admire the way you write and weave stories. You are a natural storyteller and I never miss a post that embarks me on to your thoughts! 😀

Getting to the rules (below in bold) of the award and what I am expected to do :

1. Thank and link the amazing person who nominated you. – check!

2. List the rules and display the award – check!

3.  Share seven facts about yourself – Now, this is the fun part of the award. I think every individual is unique and has lots of stories to share. So, when I was conferred the Liebster Award, I had shared 11 facts about me. I think in this post I should share 7 different ones. So, here I go:

a. I am a lazy bum! (Lo! VT, I accept it here. I know you are not going to read this post ;))

b. I love gadgets and though I do not own many, if given a choice I would want to have everything that’s trending – an iphone 6 to start with! (Shhh..even my net-worth can’t match its cost)

c. I love social media and I am glad I belong to the generation that could experience times of no social media and the present times. (From no computer to Orkut to Facebook)

d. I love watching the moon. I kind of follow when is the full moon time and a new moon one. I feel connected to the moon.  (Hmm..interesting!)

e. I would love to own a house which has a garden, a kitchen garden and a beautiful green surrounding. It should be fenced in white and the kitchen’s window should open towards the main gate. In the garden, there should be a white circular wrought iron table and 4 chairs and of course an umbrella to protect me from Sun. On the table, I need to have my laptop and a hot cup of ginger tea. (Ah! dreams!)

f. I want to be remembered long after I am gone. 🙂

g. I am scared of death and I wish I don’t have to ever see my loved ones leaving me forever 😦

4. Nominate 15 other amazing blogs and comment on their post to let them know that they have been nominated – Here’s the hard part. A lot of the bloggers I admire have already been awarded this one so I will pick up just 6 – they are in no particular order and  they keep my “reader” lively and insightful.

Guys, in some form or the other, I draw inspiration from you all and I look up to you. Congratulations and Thank you for inspiring me!!

a. Nida’s blog Inkriched is an awesome one and every post shows her clear thoughts and a lot of food for thought. She shares perspectives from outside of India and brings a different angle altogether.

b. Anunoy has two blogs and my favorite is ClickingPhotos. Through his blog he takes the readers all over the world to places unknown and beautiful. He always shares something really unique about a tradition, culture or story behind. Whenever I hop on to his blog, the picture calls out loud that yes, it is India! What did you think?

c. Sri’s blog IamStri is a potpourri like mine – feminism, fiction, book reviews and everything under the Sun finds a place in her space. I love the way she writes and expresses her self. One of the very first bloggers I started following and I have always been taken by surprise.

d. Avinash’s blog AviRandom is a unique in itself. He has this amazing quality of connecting dots. He is well read and his book reviews are different from the rest of the junta like me. He writes beautifully and leaves a smile on the face of the reader.

e. Gitanjali’s blog, WriterGitanjali is as versatile as she herself is. Her travel experiences, encounters with so many traditions makes her blog rich. She amazes with her quality to think out of the box and this also reflects on her blog.

f. Redhanded’s blog is different in terms of the content and the style of writing. Her sarcasm and creative thinking makes her posts and tweets incredibly funny and incite me to think. A lawyer by profession, she easily wins the court of readers.

So, all you readers, do find time to read these blogs and get inspired the way I get!

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – A quote by H. Jackson Brown’s mother

I am participating in National Blog Posting Month – NaBloPoMo, and this is Post #15, a pledge to write daily during November to hone my skills, challenge myself, and taking this blog to the next level. Wish me luck and share ideas that you would want to read!
