Getting the right set of shirt and trouser for men is not as easy as it sounds. Yes, there are many brands and styling is not as complex so most of us assume that picking the perfectly fitted shirt and trouser is not a big deal but I have never found it easy. When we go out to shop for VT, sometimes I feel that my guy is jinxed. If he likes a shirt, then that is not available in half sleeves and if he likes the color of the trouser, the pleats turn down the purchase decision. This also has brought me to an understanding that unlike me, VT has this unique ability to say no to clothes and he is ‘very’ selective about he wears to work.

There is this saying that one eats for self and dresses for others and I quite believe in this. Yes, while dressing one should be comfortable and that’s of utmost importance but when at work, you also dress for the next level so appearances do matter. An impression of nicely fitted shirt is better than an ill-fitted, over sized one. Isn’t it?

In the past, whenever we have gone out to shop, I see that VT would look out for an odd size of trouser as both the lower and the higher sizes are not a good fit. The option? Drop the brand and move on to another. Can’t compromise on trousers. When it comes to shirts, VT is fond of short sleeved shirts but merchandise that is available in stores is procured based on what the segment is looking for and hence, most of the times when shopping in Bangalore, a formal short sleeved shirt is super hard to find. The solution? Well, buy a good fitted full sleeve shirt and fold it as much as one can and sport the look you want. Is this the right solution? What to do? No choice, right?

If you are thinking that this is a made-to-measure type of solution, then it is not. Instead this is an approach where some customization is done to already existing features.

Once you select the size, the style, fabric and make other decisions about the purchase, you can place an order at the store or online and the product is delivered to you within 10 working days. This may also serve as a negative for somebody who gets to the store to walk out with a bag. I learnt that close to 50-60% customers choose to not go for MYFIT cos they don’t want to wait to wear something new. At the same time, I think it is a big positive that a man gets to wear the perfect size and fit at the same price of say a non-MYFIT shirt/trouser. So, though you don’t get the product in your hand, the same day, what you get is better for no additional cost. I can certainly get my Papa to try this out!

Not just that, if for what ever reason, you do not like the final product, the company is open to refund the entire amount you paid or give you a credit note in return. In my mind, the customer is aware that his satisfaction with the clothing is of utmost importance. While I was at the store, I observed that a doting father was helping his son fit into an oversized shirt cos of the pot belly but not any more – they can certainly choose MYFIT and stay loyal Van Heusen customers like I have now one at home!
