#MicroblogMondays – The Goof-Up

As a teenager I used to be the one who always dropped things – the jars, the stuff out of the refrigerator or a vessel of full of milk and my mother kept asking me to stay away else the cleaning up took more time than the help I could have been. Over years, I moved on and wasn’t as clumsy until today when I goofed-up.

So, today was K’s birthday and LP asked me to get her birthday cake over to a room at 2PM so that we could surprise K. Along with paper plates, some napkins and a smile on my face, I went on to pick up the special box of cake that somehow just slipped off my hands and was flat on the floor (yes, it even slipped out of the box). There was no way we could have used that cake and let K cut it!

The poor cake
The poor cake!

Any problem opens up a solution and we quickly grabbed another cake scheduled to be cut at 2:30PM and gladly it was managed well. The goof-up gave us some good laugh and was the talk of the day even showing up as FB comments.

The 2nd Cake!
The 2nd Cake!

Well, I would just want to wish K a great year and hope no one ever drops her cake!!  😀

      1. Reading this, I think my daughter is more clumsier than you. Hey Parul how are you? Have a wonderful week. 🙂

  1. A half hourly cake cutting ceremony was surely big on surprise 🙂 I would love to have my birthday surprise planned this way some day……..but if one of the cake gets dropped and spilled I would thank God for saving my waist line from expanding…..hahaha
A confession – I am clumsy as well which is visible when I conduct search operations in my hand bag.

  2. Oh no! I hope the bonus was more cake? 🙂 I hear you on the butterfingers, I can’t tell you how many times I dropped the movie popcorn when I was little. I’m so glad there was a relatively easy replacement, and that you got the pretty cake and a delicious smooshed cake to laugh about (and hopefully dig in to). Happy birthday to K!

  3. Oh, something like this happened to me before… ._. I bought a cake for my girlfriend and on the way home (I was going by bicycle), the box got jostled in the bag (I didn’t even lay it in the basket because I knew better) due to all of the road bumps…. in 10 minutes, her lovely dinosaur cake had turned into a reenactment of after their extinction… X_X Still tasty though, haha…

  5. Good to know that a cake was waiting in the wings. Though the cake wasn’t good enough for cutting since the name and everything had been spoilt, it was still good for eating right? So 2 cakes :P.
