200th Post – All about Happiness

The 100th post took time to come – over a year I guess but this one is around in just 5 months, well almost exact 5 and I have never been happier. Writing is liberating and I am enjoying it every single day. Whether I am tired or relaxed, worked up or working out, watching telly or reading – I do think about writing a lot more than ever.

These five months have been very different. I attempted varied things and I am stretched. Well, to name a few –Sunday Punches, a lot of book reviews, three articles in Women’s Web, winning a couple of contests and the ongoing A to Z Challenge. It’s going like I had never thought. Something else that I did during these months was the #100HappyDays photo challenge and I thought what better place to write about this one than on the 200th post! 🙂

The idea behind the challenge to train your mind to appreciate little things in life and pick up happy moments from every day situations that life throws at us. We are so busy working that we fail to recognize when someone passes over that sweet from their plate to ours at lunch, we are so occupied to look at the emails on our phone that we forget to look at the blooming tree right above our head, we are so serious about taking a flight that we fail to notice the clouds on the window and many such umpteen moments of bliss.

I was skeptical of taking this challenge and I wasn’t sure if I be able to complete it or will I have time to click pictures or keep a count, tag and upload them on social media but as against all my silly fears, I did it and it was fun. The day it all started, I was at VT’s home, working from there when my MIL sent me some hot pakodas (snacks) with a cup of ginger tea. And that was it! My first happy moment. Since that day for straight 100 days, I had so many moments to feel blessed about and share, that looking back, I know this challenge will be repeated in 2015 again!

It made me appreciate little things in my day-to-day life like a home-made dosa, a metro ride in Delhi, my clean office desk, Tirupati prasadam, a random selfie with VT and so many more. While you have a look at this collage made from my happy moments, I want you to leave you with this little thought – “Happiness is all about appreciating little things we have and not waiting for the next big event in life. Happiness is in today for tomorrow is yet to come”

Writing  is becoming an important part of my life and hope to continue this forever. I need your love and support in the form of comments, shares and kind words. Nothing encourages a blogger more! Cheers to the next 100 posts!

  2. Congratulations! It’s amazing how simple it is to use today’s technology to share the goodness. I started a page on my website called YourSkyMySky.com. It’s all about sharing your view of the sky so that we see how we all connect. I applaud your quest for happiness. It truly is the only one.

  3. Congratulations Parul. Wish you many many more! 🙂 Btw I took the 100 happy day challenge in 2014 and what a mind-blowing experience it was! I too am considering taking it up in 2015 and making it an annual routine. This time I am looking to incorporate it with blogging. I have to yet figure out the HOW.
