I went for a morning walk today after a very long time and I must say that it was tiring yet I felt happy that I am getting back into regular physical activity. Bangalore’s weather is so fabulous that whatever time of the day you are walking, you won’t feel the pinch.
However, I do feel the pinch when the traffic on the road gets too much or people honk unnecessarily so much so that the noise pollution hurts me more than the oxygen I would have got in the morning. This morning I was complaining about the noise and then I saw this tree – big sized, green leaves, painted trunk and those lovely murals on the boundary.
It did feel like the volunteers who gave the trees a makeover went a bit overboard but I was amazed at the art. Once again, this tree made me look beyond the pollution and experience beauty in our surroundings.
We will always have things to complain but finding little joys around us is what our aim should be.
What do you say?
I am tagging this post for both #MicroblogMondays and #MondayMusings.
This is a traditional art form. In Odisha, it is known by the name of ‘Saura Art’.

You know, many symbols depicted in this art form resembles closely with those found in prehistoric rock shelters. It shows that that this art has a long tradition.

Trees in Mumbai have those name tags – like Mangifera Indica. Just so that little kids can learn their science as they climb up to steal mangoes! :-p
Yes, the tree art thing would be really amazing to look at here in Mumbai! 🙂

That’s nice! I have seen names in Bangalore too but only in places like the Lal Bagh or Cubbon Park. When trees were being cut in some part of Bangalore long back, activity had put in that note saying “Please don’t cut me” 🙂

Ah. Morning walks in Bangalore are definitely not as tiring as they feel. Reminds me that I’ve to start again. And the art is quite lovely too, though not on the tree. 🙂

I love the tree. It looks beautiful. What part of Bangalore do you live in, Parul? I agree. You can walk here at most times in the day. I do my walks in the evenings.

Thanks Rachna. I stay in Indiranagar and this was a walk on the 100 feet road. My evenings are packed – calls, help at home and then a bit of reading or writing. I prefer to finish my workout in the morning.

Those were the days when traffic and pollution wasn’t such a big problem. And Bangalore was truly the Garden City. Though those days have gone away, I still love the amazing climate of Bangalore.
The art work looks quite nice :). Guess, in the fast paced world we live in, we should stop to appreciate such simple joys of life :D.
