If Sacha Owned Facebook..

Here’s what happened.

Early this month, Sacha, who blogs at visualizeauthenticity reached out to me for a fun prompt exchange blog hop. The idea was to give each other a prompt and then publish each other’s post on our blogs. Why Sacha was doing this? It’s her birthday month and she is allowed to do whatever she wants. Isn’t it?

I said yes because what better than the happy face of a fellow blogger during her favorite month of the year. So here goes Sacha whose prompt was “If I owned Facebook”.

Hey, happiness and food readers. I’m Sacha from Visualize Authenticity; I want to thank Parul for collaborating with me on my birthday month to exchange fun writing prompts.

The writing prompt that Parul gave me was “If I owned Facebook”

If I owned Facebook, I would remove some of the constant notifications regarding the where about of our “Facebook friends”. This constant notification is known as the activity log, and also the inbox notification (if someone saw your message)

The reason for this is because, it seem to me borderline stalking. We don’t have to know when our friends like or comment on someone else’s page or picture.

Also, the fact that when you send an inbox it will tell you if it was viewed or not by the receiver; this to me is downright disturbing. This causes problem between relationships.

For example, people might start thinking negative thoughts like “the person I inbox doesn’t want to speak to me, they never answered me, and I know they saw my inbox”

Sometimes, I might see an inbox and not be able to respond at the moment and later on forget that I even received that inbox. Nothing negative but just things happen.

However, (fictionally) to be the owner of Facebook would bring me great joy, joy in knowing that I help people connect and built friendship all over the world.

I help people develop Friendship like the one I have built with Parul, who lives outside of the Unites states.

      1. Me owned FB? Well,
        1. I will bring ‘Share with accompanied text’ option, so that people don’t need to copy-and-paste the accompanying text while sharing.

        2. Will make hashtags more user friendly. currently its clumpsy, and most of time not sure if it even works.

        3. I will introduce a bigger screen option for video calling, and integrate other call features, so that people don’t need to go to skype or whatsapp for calling.

        4. Will remove a few accounts 😉 😛

  2. Good to see you here, Sacha! Well, if I owned Facebook, I think I’d definitely introduce the Dislike button. If there’s a Like button, Dislike demands equal space too. After all, we dont/cant Like everything.:D

  6. If I owned Facebook people would not be able to upload anything pornographic. It would instantly be deleted once an individual tried to post it.

  7. If I owned Facebook, I’d definitely introduce a “So What” button. And have a “Slap/Punch” feature, like the Poke one!

    On a second note, if I owned Facebook, I’d shut it down so that people could interact in real life.

  8. If I owned Facebook, I would stop changing it back to Top Stories when the person chose Most Recent, I would also stop asking if it makes sense that someone changed the name of their page. This fills up my notification box and drives me crazy. That said, I agree that FB does a lot to bring others together including internationally.

  14. If I owned Facebook I would make Instagram more user family for those of us with multiple accounts. I also wouldn’t change privacy security settings on the sly, so there would be no surprise craziness showing up in your feed!

  15. If i owned Facebook, I would revel in the fact that such a simple idea I put to work started a trend the ultimately changed the way people not only communicated but marketed! And then I would take in stride all the things that everyone criticized about my genius plan

  17. If I owned FB, I’ll ask Zuck to run it, and continue being peaceful 😛 I’ll get the money of course, and buy lots and lots and lots and lots of novels 😉
