Today I will..

100 Words on Saturday - Write Tribe

Today I will write just 100 words and I’ll tell you that I’m not going to stop bringing to light the atrocities that women around the world go through.

Sudan has been in news time and again for being intolerant to women wearing skirts or trousers. Moral Policing takes an upper hand there and most of the laws are vague and discriminatory.  Fardos has been sentenced to 20 lashes for dressing indecently. And there is a fine too.

First gender, then religion and then caste. Will this ever stop? Why do women around the world face injustice in the name of laws?

I signed the Amnesty International UK Petition against Flogging Women for indecent dress. We all understand that this is wrong and needs to stop. I urge you to sign this and help this 19-year-old whose only fault was wearing a pair of trousers.

Share if you care.

  1. Sometimes I wonder how we can be so cruel to each other…other times I wonder why I’m so blessed. The lives many women lead is sub-human! Thank you for shining light on these stories, Parul.

  2. In a world where women continue to remain less equal than their male counterparts, we must protest to highlight the discrimination and subjugation that women face in so many ways. Well done, Parul. Will sign the petition surely!
