You decide – Ordinary or Extraordinary?

I clicked this photo yesterday and since then I have been in awe of this capture.

Sometimes I am like that. Appreciating my own work. But if you look at this picture, there is a lot there that intrigues me. A lamp. Light. That yellowish tinge.

Look at it again. It will tell you a story. That big shape, that glow, focus in the center, peace around this light and imperfection.

Let there be light!
Let there be light!

What would you say – ordinary or extraordinary?

Tagging this post to The Daily Post Weekly Photo Challenge and this also happens to be 16/nth post on Wordless Wednesday.

  1. Light itself is extraordinary. What a dill life it would be without light. I feel so sorry for the visually impaired people in the world. Your picture of the lamp shows artificial light at it’s best.

  2. The beauty of photography is that it can make any object look extraordinary. The secret is in the lighting that either Nature or Man provides. I say extraordinary – because you haven’t used the normal angle. It makes us look at life from a different perspective.

  3. While the lamp itself is ordinary to me, you have made it extraordinary by the way you talk about it, how it made you feel, and what you were thinking and seeing as you took the picture. It shows me something I couldn’t see before. Well done!

  4. I think that any object can be ordinary one day and extraordinary another – it just depends on your point of view that day. But you’ve certainly made this lamp look extraordinary with your words today.

  5. Perspective changes everything. Just wondering – did you capture the frame b’cos you subconsciously found beauty in it ? Or did its beauty come forth on speculation? I think the former probably, since intuition made you click it. Howz my psyche-analysis? 🙂

  6. About the photograph – definitely extraordinary. As for the lamp, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm… not quite sure it fits any of the categories 😉 Lovely shot! Love the baground wallpaper as well – so happy and cheery 😀
