A Cookie Meme

Let’s be honest. There is a lot on my mind and plate these days. There are drafts that need serious thinking, ideas that need research and stories that I need to tell. But, all that is still unfinished work waiting to be published.

I looked out for prompts here and there and then Sunday Stealing came to rescue. Well, a meme is fun and of course a way to share more. So, here I go:

  1. Are any of your friendships on a fine line? Not really. But there is a friend of mine who I miss in my life. Not that I have lost touch with her, but it’s not how it used to be before. Sometimes I express much less than I should. Sometimes, I am the most talkative person and then I am gagged an equal number of times. With her, I made this mistake of assuming things. I did not know what to tell her and we drifted apart.
  2. Have you ever witnessed a birth? No, and I wouldn’t want to I guess.
  3. Where’s your favorite place to be when you feel depressed? With myself or with someone who can listen to me when I open up and hit the bottom.
  4. Are you currently looking forward to tomorrow? Yes. I usually look forward to tomorrows. They mean hope, a change from today and a brighter day.
  5. When was the last time you held someone’s hand? 12 days back when I was leaving Hong Kong.
  6. Have you ever faked sick? Yes! Who hasn’t?
  7. Are you currently wearing jeans? No! Never when I am home and writing.
  8. Have you gone to a coffee shop within the past week? [i.e. Starbucks] Good reminder. I should do that with Starbucks right next door.
  9. Would you like to be able to read thoughts? It would be interesting but equally painful. Don’t you think so?
  10. Do certain swear words just roll off your tongue? Never.
  11. Are you often the last one to understand a joke? All the time!
  12. Can experience be gained just by reading? The word experience means “an event or occurrence which leaves an impression”. Reading will only give you an idea but experience is gained by experiencing.
  13. Does playing the guitar make a person more attractive? Not to me.
  14. Have you ever slept in a tent, indoors or out? Not in a tent but I have slept in a car on a steep hill with the car on first gear so that it doesn’t roll back even with the hand brake on. It was scary.
  15. What does your hair look like at the moment? Too bad to describe.
  16. Are you mad right now? I am smiling. Wish you could see that.
  17. Who did you spend your summer with last year? My parents are around every summer so I was with them going around Bangalore.
  18. Did you eat a cookie today? Oh no! Now I know why what this meme was called a ‘Cookie Meme’.

  1. Taking a break between an ER visit with my mother in law (she’s OK-could have been much worse) and helping prepare a birthday party for my developmentally disabled brother in law, I would say – check back with me in a year!

  2. I had a particularly change of heart this Sunday. I decided to switch off my attention from my phone and not use my laptop till my toddler sleeps. And that bought me so much time to spend with him without thinking just about “ME”. 🙂

  3. Welcome to Sunday Stealing! I appreciate your answer to #1 because I, too, veer back and forth between being very talkative and not wanting to say a word. And if I lived right next door to Starbuck’s, I’d be sipping a hot chocolate right now (2% milk, no whipped cream, and a dash of cinnamon).
