Skywatch Friday – 3

Skywatch
Colors in the sky..

This picture was clicked in Tung Chung which is to the east of Hong Kong. Such clear skies are a rare sight in western and central regions of Hong Kong. The city faces a big issue in the form of air pollution and what looks like fog is smog that covers the sky.

Development is important but what humans fail to realize is that the environment needs to be protected too. Vehicles, emission from industries and power plants need to be contained but keeping environment green. This is a challenge that not just Hong Kong faces but even other well-developed nations struggle with.

As citizens of our fast growing modern world, it is our responsibility to take care of the environment and not let development hide the beautiful skies.

For Day 20 of  NaBloPoMo and NoMo, I am participating in Skywatch Friday.

  1. Those are some lovely colours in the sky :). I guess with the ever increasing population and I think Hong Kong has one of the highest population densities in the world as well as reliance on ones own transport, the pollution is rising quite rapidly.

I mean in Beijing, people recently started buying fresh air. Could have never imagined that I would see something like that in my lifetime :O.
