Wordless Wednesday #24

Edgar Degas once said,

Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.

A form of art
A form of art

When I spotted this in a store in Hong Kong, I wondered what it could mean. It was a store selling clothes and bags.

What do you think? What was the artist trying to show?

  1. Seems like an odd choice for a clothing store. Skulls have always been fashionable with the younger generation, though and it’s definitely an attention getter!

  2. Definitely makes a statement. I think it probably has something to do with our naked selves still needing to be glittered and glammed up. 🙂 It will attract the teens that’s for sure!

  3. I don’t know. Maybe it’s a way to invoke the curiosity of the window shopper, so they come inside, ask what it is about, and then get tempted to buy something after seeing the wares. 😉

  4. Lol! Though it looks quite weird in front of a clothing store, it surely would have been there to evoke some curiosity among the onlookers and get people into the store ;).
