I clearly remember reading about Blog Delurking last year and the idea sounded great. However, by the time I had a chance to read and plan a post, I had already missed the bus. So this time, when I read about International Blog Delurking Week on Alphabet Salad, I wanted to jump right in. The week ends on January 9 and there is still time.
What is International Blog Delurking? As Mel mentions on her blog, it is an ancient tradition. First full week in January to have your real readers raise their hands up to show they were around. A great encouragement for bloggers.
What am I asking? If you are reading this post, please don’t walk away after you finish. Stop by the comment box on this post and drop in a simple “I am here” or a “Hi” or anything that you would like to tell me. I know it sounds too much to fill in your name, type your email but trust me, it’s pretty easy. Your email id will not published and I won’t come back to sell you stuff. No spam also.
If you are someone who loves to go the extra mile, tell me when was the first time you stopped by this blog and what made you come back again?
How will this make me smile? When you stop by to comment, I will be able to match up how many people are actually reading this post. Almost every time, the number of people who read my posts and those who stop by to leave a comment or a word of appreciation (read brick bats) does not match up. So on this post and during this week, I will get to know my real readers and once a year, it should be good. Right?
Let’s celebrate and spread some cheer,
It’s after all a new year!
Are you a Happiness and Food reader? Comment box below is waiting for your visit!
Not a lurker. 😉 I usually comment too. I don’t remember which post was first though. Been a while since I started reading Happiness and Food 😀 might have been a photo post of Bangalore on tree art or something like that. 🙂

Just saying hi! I’m a relatively new follower but what made me stay is the connection we made. I love how certain bloggers, ahem you, make it so easy to be “friends” with their readers. ☺️

Hi Parul,
I am most definitely here. I read your blogs because they give me a feeling of happiness and warmth. Based on your writings, you seem to be a down to earth person who can call a spade a spade. A rare quality to have and I do admire that a lot. Without ever having seen you, you seem like a friend! And your blogs feel like a conversation with a friend who vibes on the same wavelength as mine. So keep blogging!

Oh I surely wasn’t aware of this initiative. Sounds quite interesting :D.
I know I am not regular and I guess this is the first time this year ;). But then when I do come along, I make sure to read whatever I may have missed :D. And what keeps me going is the way your weave your thoughts into words with simplicity and full of emotions :).
