Lunch time conversations are random. Most people pick up a topic and then move to another in a matter of seconds. It flows from books to politics and from work-out to TV shows.
I thought I will sleep early and head to Yoga class in the morning. Well, what can I say? #GOTisHere

Last week at the lunch table, a colleague mentioned that most women who follow Game Of Thrones want Jon Snow to come back.
There is clearly much more than meets the eye. Yes, Kit Harington is a great choice for the role, looks calm and handsome suiting the kind of set up and circumstances around him but it’s not true that only women want him back.
Why?
We are all biased towards the one who was neglected for no fault of his/her. In Game Of Thrones, Snow is one character who is a Stark yet he is not. He doesn’t know who his mother is/was and clearly his last name ‘Snow’ tells the world that he was an unwanted illegitimate child. Horrible, isn’t it?
Snow is an underdog. Around him are powerful guys – the ones with the lineage and the backing. There is no one with Snow. Yet he stands for what’s just. When no one seems capable of taking the story forward, it’s Snow who we want to harp our hopes on. At some point in each of ours lives, we have been the ‘underdog’. Willing to win the game if things go in favor. We want to write our own story and not rely on someone else to do it for us. For both men and women want to believe that an underdog will not always remain one.
We want a hero. We want a guy who will set things right for us. One who is compassionate and strong. No candies for the right answer but who other than Snow can be our hero? We want to believe in happy endings and particularly those where the good wins over the evil.
The show, Game Of Thrones is more unpredictable than you and I can imagine. I haven’t read the book A Song of Ice and Fire but even if I had, I am aware that the plot is different from the book. I don’t want to believe that Snow will not be resurrected.
Snow is our guy; the one next door who will make us believe in happy endings once again. The one who we know will not leave us so soon.
Do you want Jon Snow to come back?

we do root for the underdogs in the stories ,,. especially those that have the potential to be heroes.. in teenage years we devoured on Harry Potter, Neville and Harry and Ron were underdogs indeed at first..
We want to believe we can be more.. like them…

Looks like I’ll be the odd one out here 😀 I don’t want him to come back…I don’t really like his character that much because he is too naive and lets people use him and in the end betray him

Actually that makes me like him 😉 That gentle heart – mush ball 😀

I haven’t watched the Game of Thrones. 🙂 So – not qualified to answer whether I want Jon Snow to come back. But yes, I would always support an underdog 🙂

I stopped reading after third part because he kept killing all my favorite characters… Actually you might be right about why we want Snow back… I feel the same about Tyrion too. If they kill him.. that’s it no more GOT. But still my most favourite character is Arya … I was so shocked by the last episode. Waiting for the new season 😀

Arya is my favorite too. I see there is so much possible for her to do 🙂 Tyrion and Khaleesi too are the heart of GOT 😀

I don’t watch the Game of Thrones. However, i agree with you – we are driven by emotions and more often than not, want to have the evil shut down!

I love Jon Snow and am sure he will be back, the biggest plus for GoT is that before you can settle with something it throws in a twist 🙂 and that makes it impossible to stop watching 🙂

Good to know I am not among the only ones who hasn’t seen Game of Thrones :P. But yeah I think most of us always love to support the underdog in any field for the joy and delight he or she brings.
