I am a First Officer.
A single child and a sincere student, at work I have to be prudent.
First in my family to enter aviation, my career choice is my decision.
There were ups and downs in life but I took each day in its stride.
Dreams in my eyes, up close I can watch the Sunrise.
Men can be stewards and women can fly, someday we will bid gender bias a goodbye.
Come to my home and watch us share chores, we three are together indoors or outdoors.
I love what I do and I want to grow.
Giving up is not my cup of tea, someday to the ‘left’ I will be.
My name is Richelle and I am a First Officer with Indigo.

Today is edition #4 of #WomenAtWork, a regular photo feature on this blog. Read the inaugural post to know more.
I met Richelle over emails when I travelled to Bangalore from Delhi early March. I passed on a note to her expressing my desire to feature her. With Ms Anita Tuteja’s support, she shared about her career story and family. I found her to be a genuine person who would always try to do the right thing.
Richelle – Pursuing the desire to feature you here, I was reminded of a very important lesson that as adults we all tend to forget. If we want something, we need to take the first step and ask for what we want. Happy to meet you!
A dream job. You obviously love it 😊
