Built in the 18th century, the Safdarjung Tomb is located in the heart of New Delhi. Can you believe that a much beautiful sandstone and marble mausoleum is just behind this grand entrance?
Safdarjung Tomb is one of the 174 Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) protected monuments in Delhi and is open for tourists. While I got this shot on the go like that of the way to Rashtrapati Bhavan, someday I would love to visit this place.

Have you visited this tomb?
For Day 9 of #NaBloPoMo, I am bringing to you a photo post from my recent travel. This post is Wordless Wednesday #40.
I haven’t visited this tomb and quite like you have passed from the front of it a number of times. The next time though I should make it a point to visit it 🙂

I’ve visited this Parul with my parents as a child and it is truly grand. Mughal architecture has left behind some very exceptional examples of craftsmanship. Great shot by the way!

I love this tomb – its grace and beauty is undeniable. The architecture is typical but the quiet and ambience inside is just awesome. I have been here umpteen number of times and shot pics of every nook and corner where I was allowed to go.
I hope you get to visit it soonest.
