Help me grow

Are you receptive to life experiences that teach you lessons? Are you ready to grow cos something or someone else is showing you the light? That which you were not exposed to earlier? I am and I believe that to grow, we need an open mind. Even a plant needs sunlight and water and likewise, we do too.

We need people, situations, and many other (un)comfortable surroundings to grow. We need to become better versions of ourselves and for that, we need to look at one thing through multiple lenses. Whether it is about 500 or 1000 INR not being a legal tender or Trump’s win – every situation has various facets. While you can choose your side, look at the other with equal respect and acceptance. Stand for what you believe in but acknowledge that another viewpoint exists.

Growth is that.

What it means to grow.

A simple food for thought today on Day 19 of #NaBloPoMo. Help me grow as you read my views here. As always, I am open to feedback and various thoughts.

  1. Thank you for this reminder! We try to avoid the tough situations (at least I do!) but it does force you to grow. It has to, even if it’s difficult to see it that way.

  2. You know Parul, that’s such a beautiful thought. Sadly in today’s times, having opposing views to someone is considered as being anti – national and outrageous. It’s really difficult to even have a different viewpoint than the rest and that’s what honestly frustrates me.

  3. This is, yet another, beautiful and thought provoking post I loved to read, Parul.
I so agree with these thoughts; We need people, situations, and many other (un)comfortable surroundings to grow. We need to become better versions of ourselves and for that, we need to look at one thing through multiple lenses.

  4. I’m all for giving the other person the benefit of the doubt. But if a person openly mocks me/my stand, they don’t deserve my compassion. I’ve actually removed a few people from my friend list these last two weeks because they were openly scornful and demeaning of my stance or the stance adopted by people I love. For me, that’s a deal breaker. Being open to lessons is one I gladly advocate.
