#WomenAtWork – A Yoga Teacher

I am a Yoga Teacher.

Introduced to Yoga as a child by my mother,

I have mastered the asanas you all wonder.

A Public Relations and Mass Communications professional,

I started practicing in the way that was traditional.

I listened to my heart all along,

somewhere deep down I knew nothing could go wrong.

Leaving a job and moving cities,

my first teaching assignment was in a western country.

My family and friends are my biggest support,

how many are up before 6 am to teach?

I am both a homemaker and a working woman,

financial independence is important to me as a person.

I teach my two children to stay persistent,

for success comes to those who stay resilient.

I would ask you to follow your heart,

things may take time but it’s an art.

I am Nishara Antony and I am a Yoga teacher.

Today is edition #12 of #WomenAtWork, a regular photo feature on this blog. If you are interested in participating, please read the inaugural post and join by adding your linky below. I would love to see your take on the tag.

Nishara is one of my favorite yoga teachers at a1000 yoga in Bangalore. A genuine and beautiful woman who teaches Shivananda Yoga in style.

How to link?

  • You can only join with a blog post.
  • It would be great to see a picture of a woman at work and a few words about her. If you cannot share a picture, you can share a picture of her workspace. With a real picture, I would still be able to call this a photo post.
  • Use the linky to add your post.
  • Visit others and show some love.

  1. Such a great introduction to Nishara, and it is very inspiring to read how she juggles both home, professional and personal goals in life. Good on her for waking up before 6am to start each day. She must really love yoga, and sounds like teaching it brings her great joy. If you love what you do, then it musn’t feel like “work” but something that you are meant to do instead 🙂 Two lovely images of her in her element there. There is something so peaceful about them and her…love what you do, love life, be the person whom you want to be 🙂
