Last evening, there was a heavy downpour in my part of the city. The Sun was setting and within no time, the clouds filled up the sky and it started raining. Cats and dogs. I am sure a few trees would have fallen and water would have clogged in many part of the city.
Sunday evenings are often meant for reading and I was in my bed enjoying the time on my hand. The power cut too failed to disturb me. But then, strong winds started blowing and I was distracted. The Kindle soon found a safe spot and was turning idle. I was looking up at the curtain that had no control on itself. After a few moments of enjoying the scene and snapping a few pictures to get the exact shot, my mind wandered to varied thoughts.
Thoughts about life and its purpose. People and what importance they hold in our lives. Who are these people? Friends, family? How much is too much and when to put the foot down? Do people make things complex or things are too complex to handle. Sometimes I wish there were any guidelines that people could follow on how to manage thoughts. Maybe that could help. Imagine, quickly opening a book and checking on the index to get to the page on solution. Sounds easy but I know one size has never fitted all. Has it?
It could be the book I was reading or maybe the weather that my mind was flooded with thoughts. Clouding your mind too wasn’t my intent. However, like they say, sharing is the best way to clear out thoughts and particularly those that do not leave side. While I have no answers and I don’t expect any, going with the flow is what’s on my mind. I believe time clears many things and sometimes it’s good to give time some time.

Writing for #MondayMusings today and this picture has been tagged to MundaneMondays #109. Mel, not a Microblog Monday #142 post by rules but sharing it for the reflections that I had.
Meaningful metaphor…

Oh a manual would have indeed been perfect. One tailor made for us at birth. But then would life have been the same adventure it is? Something to ponder, I guess.
LikeLike
True. Not knowing what’s next makes it sure an adventure.

Oh, yes, just let’s give time some time, let’s give ourselves some time to get over things, people, life…! And, yes, I would love to have had that manual – how helpful that would have been!

I think this question will dog us till the end of time. Some people are so annoying and one wonders how exactly to react around them. Ignore? Give it back? Enjoyed your tussle with your thoughts.

Ha ha! Some need a giving back for sure.

LOL for the manual P!!! That would be an amazing one, not to mention bulky one!! 😉
I think when thoughts cloud in, best thing is to detach and just watch them drift in and out without focusing on anything in particular- soon only the relevant ones stay to poke you some more while the others float on – this is my opinion and experience with such times. And yes lying on bed, watching the breeze play with the curtains is the most therapeutic way to do it 🙂

You are right. We need to let the relevant one stay and others float.

The manual would have to be updated too often for us to have a final copy in our hands!:)))
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Parul. These thoughts are mine too, 247365 :)))

Well, I hope writing down your thoughts has given you more clarity! I guess this is one of the reasons journalling is so effective – we get to write our own manual!

I agree. This one calmed me down. Thank you Fabida. So glad you stopped by!

A manual is an interesting concept, though it would be helpful, carrying it around would keep reminding of things. However I do feel that writing down would be a good way to seperate the good and bad and the worse.

With you there. Thank you!

It would be nice if life came with a manual and we could scroll through the index to find the solution.

How easy it would be then.

I too have these moments of deep thinking… Wondering about things that I usually don’t think about, finding the meaning of it all. Rain does that to people I guess. The more we think, the deeper we get tangled. Go with the flow I would say. 😀

That’s always easiest. Go with the flow.

Sometimes I too dive into this kind of deep thoughts. I have the habit of picking a book and reading a random page for want of solutions to my problems. This practice helped me a lot in many of my tough times.

That’s so interesting. I should try that some day.

Its amazing to realize how our mind gets carried away on the rail track set up by our thoughts. In case you ask me, people and situations both can be complex. It is one’s promise to oneself for keeping things simple and that can be done by watching one’s thoughts. Are there guidelines to manage our thoughts? I would say Yes there are. Fodder for discussion for some later meeting without D 🙂

We should meet. Been a long time. Isn’t it? 🙂

Ah those profound contemplation that life sometimes leads us to 😛
But then again, if we didn’t have moments like this, will we ever think about such things?
LikeLike
True. We need those moments.

Yes, people and their thoughts can get too complex at times. It gets really difficult to understand someone else’s thoughts, while trying to figure out one’s own thoughts! Those guidelines you wrote about should exist!

Yeah – I am always trying to figure out my own. Thanks for stopping by!

I completely agree. While some thoughts become lighter when we share them, some are best left alone. Time will take care of it 🙂
