When the time comes

When the time comes,

All dreams fall flat.

The hospital messes up.

The family thinks nothing is wrong.

You think nothing will happen to you.

Advice of colleagues makes no difference.

Those who can help are unaware of the situation.

Those who don’t know you come forward to help.

You are not around to see and you can’t do anything.

Nor can anyone else.

When the time comes,

All hopes for life fall flat.

Last week I heard the terrible news of an ex-colleague who passed away. As much as that is how life is, today’s microblog is remembering her and reminding myself that life will slip away one day. Linking with MicroblogMondays #211.

Updated on September 11 – This morning I heard of the passing away of fellow blogger Alok Singhal. I have had many interactions with him and I would like to believe that we knew each other virtually. His sudden death is a shock to most of us. May God give Saru and his family the strength to deal with this loss.

  1. Yes , that’s absolutely correct . That’s why it is said everything is destined.
We should be thankful to God for every day which passes soundly.
    It’s life dear
Be brave to face the reality

  2. Like Balaka said, this poem made me sad 😦 But we all come and go…that’s the circle of life and how life is. That’s just the way it is. Sorry to hear about your ex-colleague. It sounded like they made an impression on those around them, including you. This poem is a thoughtful reminder on how fragile life can be. The least we can do is take care of ourselves and look out for each other.
