Charminar – Icon of Hyderabad

Our Hyderabad trip was a short one. It was meant to be time with my cousins during Dussehra.

VT and I did manage to visit the iconic Charminar in that short span. Since we hadn’t planned it well, it was late to climb up the monument for a view of the city from the top. Still the first look remains fresh in my heart and mind.

These images were up on Instagram in 2017 but recently while reading Shinjini’s post, I realized I never had a chance to share this with you readers.

I am always confused about what to share on what media. Here’s fixing that mistake as I think the Charminar deserves home on this space too. Won’t you agree? (I know that’s a leading question and you can’t say no.)

Linking with Esha and Natasha for #WordlessWednesday today and this is #81 for me.

  1. Its facinating how india’s history is so vastly derived by Islamic or muslim heritage while the current government is ready to denounce any history in such relations. Such a shame for such art to be under hate influence 😦

  4. What a magnificent beauty Charminar is! The black & white photography is adding to its elegance. You are right, Parul, this photo needed a space here. 😀

  5. Such splendid shots, Parul. So glad you put them here. Like I always say, awe-struck by your shutter-bug skills.

Despite the repair work the monument looks so regal and outstanding.

  6. Charminar is a great icon. And that’s a GREAT pic, Parul. 🙂
Did you get to go to the top of it. During my visits, I never got to go inside. It just wasn’t allowed for some years.
