“We leave something of ourselves behind when we leave a place, we stay there, even though we go away. And there are things in us that we can find again only by going back there.”
― Pascal Mercier
On our recent trip to Spiti Valley, we were in Tabo for half a day and the night. It’s a small village with a handful population. The place we stayed in had this tree in the owner’s backyard. At first, I did not know that the owner lived in the same house. Then when I noticed, I saw how his family had made peace with the rough weather and altitude. The village was their home. This tree had so many apples that I couldn’t stop admiring.

Look at the apples on that one! Wow! Reminds me of one of my favorite books ‘Winter Garden’, that had an apple orchard as its backdrop.
This week I’ll be talking about the gift of life as part of my post 🙂

It’s apple season where I live (my state is a major apple producer). I loved seeing apples in another part of the world. Here’s my tree – it may be an apple tree but we aren’t sure. https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2019/09/the-portrait-thursdaytreelove.html

I’m sharing an older tree post [again]. Life has been {fill in the blank]. I shot some tree photos this week. I’ll share them for the next tree love. I love the apple tree, and I’ll keep in mind the apple orchards since it’s just about that season here.

Seeing fruits hanging off trees seems to magical no? I am fascinated by it too and think this fascination stems from the fact that we no longer have that many trees around us to enjoy their beauty. Sad thing to mull on but our green people are dwindling in great numbers and its only when we set out to travel outside of the Urban jungles into the real ones, do we get to see some of this beauty.

Can you believe I’ve only seen an apple tree from far away in spite of visiting so many places in Himachal Pradesh? SIgh. I’d love to see one! Hoping to visit an orchard next time. How sweet to have an apple tree in your own garden! Glad you shared this. Thank you for hosting ThursdayTreeLove, Parul.

I am including a link to my blog from last Friday. The post is about Trees and Paper and how artists make use of paper in different ways. I also write about Pamela Paulsrud and her Tree Project. She holds paper making workshops. The paper circles created become the surface to tell about each person’s experiences with trees. The circles are then connected together in long strings and hung from the ceiling of galleries. https://www.marthaslavin.blogspot.com

Hi Martha – Thank you for stopping by. I loved what you shared about your post but I wasn’t able to visit your blog on my computer or my phone. Seems like some error with the site and its security settings. Can you share the exact post please instead of the blog link? Maybe that will help. Thank you again.
