Crochet, the new found love

It was a random encounter with Crochet. Anamika and Renee on my timeline had been posting their creations and I was intrigued.

I looked up posts, watched many videos and then on a whim, picked up a needle and yarn.

I started crocheting 45 days back and I can’t stop looking up new patterns and yarn to create.

If I were home, I don’t know how much yarn I would have bought. But since I will have to carry all that I buy and crochet back to Bangalore, I have kept my purchases at bay.

I can’t remember when was the last time I picked up something that I had never imagined I would.

But no regrets at all. It has been a fun journey during the tough times I am going through and glad I have a way to channelize my energy.

How do you find your quiet nook in tough times?

  1. That is so lovely you have taken up crochet, Parul. I picked up crochet about a year ago and it is so fun. I like making amigurumi and stuffed toys. Some projects I take about a week to make and others have taken months. When I started I watched countless videos on YouTube that explained how to crochet. Hope you have more fun with crochet and you are staying safe over there 🙂

    1. That sounds like me when it comes to learning how to crochet. There are tons of patterns and videos out there. I’d like to make an Amigurumi for a friend’s daughter 🙂 thanks for stopping by and so happy to know you also crochet.

  2. Happy to see you’ve been hooked on crochet. I took up crochet 50 years ago, am somewhat self taught, and used to crochet a lot. In my mid-ish 60’s, I can’t crochet for hours on end or make the doilies made with cotton thread and a small hook I used to enjoy making. It’s a wonderful way to pass the time. I like the fringed doily on the left. Right now I am making a project that I’ve been working on (on and off) for the last 18 months or so – a blanket.

    1. Wow! That’s so good to know Alana. I would love to continue to crochet. I’m making a shawl now and will get to a blanket some day. I’m learning by watching you tube videos. And it’s just been 2 months and finding it a good way to do something creative. Happy to know you crochet too. Thank you so much for stopping by. You encouraged me to keep at it. ♥️
