I forgot to pay for my annual domain name and hosting charges early this month.
It was an honest miss.
I missed seeing the reminders, emails and last few-day-remaining notices. And then one day, after ofcourse when I had crossed the deadline – what I saw when I opened up the blog was this,
This site can’t be accessed.
It was like a rug pulled from under my feet. The idea of not having this blog scared me.
I know I have not been blogging but that doesn’t let me let go of this home of mine. It was a realization and maybe it was the blow I needed.
So, keep me accountable readers and I will try to be around more than before.
Has this happened to you before? That the fear of losing something makes you go back to change or work on things you had taken for granted? In life and relationships, I know I have been there. What about you?
That is a scary message! I think my heart would skip a beat. I’m glad you didn’t lose it and you could get back into your blog! Nice to see you again! 🙂

I am glad you fixed the problem and got your site back, Parul. Not only for you, it would have been a scary message for me as well had I got that message while trying to visit your blog. Now, get back to weekly blogging. We need to support each other by reading, sharing and commenting like we used to. Remember those initial days when we were blogging non-stop? I miss it. We don’t have to be that active, but weekly once we can find time for blogging, right? I sincerely hope so! 🧡

Yes Vinitha. Exactly my thought. Weekly once is doable. Let’s try for that. And fully agree on supporting each other. Hugs!

Yeah that would have been a bit of a shock. Hope you still write occasionally 🙂

As Mel would remind us, over at Stirrup Queens, do you have your blog (and other things) backed up? I can’t imagine losing my years of blog posts! It would be such a loss. I’m sure you felt that way too. I credit Mel’s Microblogs for keeping me blogging. A microblog is a great way of touching base.
Glad you recovered it all! What a relief – for you, and (more selfishly) for all of us too!

I don’t have a backup. I worry about the investment when I am not even generating a penny but you make me think, Mali. I should think about back ups. You are right that Mel’s microblog has kept me going in the past on Mondays so I shouldn’t let that go. Thanks, Mali!

Oh yes! It happens so many times! In practically all aspects of life!
I used to freak out about it earlier, but the recent pandemic seems to have changed my outlook. I realize now that even if certain things have to end, there’s always a new beginning.
This is MY new beginning. When you visit my blog, I think you will be able to figure out who I am, but please refer to me as ‘Kay’ only. Will email you with more details.
Good to connect with you again!
See you around! 😀

Woah! Glad you got back. I don’t even know what I would do if I lost my blog. It is the entire documentation of my early motherhood years. Glad to see you back. Looking forward to more microblogging from you.
