#ThursdayTreeLove – 156

“I dream. Sometimes I think that’s the only right thing to do.”
― Haruki Murakami

Before I get to the tree picture for today, I want to share more with all of you.

I am a dreamer. For as long as I can remember, I have dreamt of things, places and what not. When I was a twenty something I have been told I had a rose-tinted glass to look through. But I still love the dreamer in me. I know that dreams come true. Sometimes we work towards dreams and sometimes, the universe conspires to bring our dreams to us in its own unique way.

One of my dreams has been to see the fall colors. In India, we see trees and greenery in all seasons but I have only seen fall foliage and colors in pictures and here on #ThursdayTreeLove.

So this dream of mine came true.

And can you believe that it came true not as a part of planned vacation but as a part of work?

End of October I flew to the United States for work and for the first time in the month of October. My previous trips to US have been in January and July many moons ago.

This time, I was there for more than ten days and I did see fall colors. It is magical and even more when you see it from the plane and then right from the word go. My friends and coworkers told me that this was the end of fall season but beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder.

This post is going live on Thanksgiving and I am grateful to my friends who made this dream come true by taking me on a train ride to see fall colors around St Croix river. Not just that, we also walked in a park amidst trees so I could see more around and soak in.

Joining in with a happy me from a park we walked around and heads up that many more pictures will follow. This is a Northern Red Oak tree I am hugging.

  1. Lucky you Parul. I absolutely love the fall colours too – the red, oranges and browns. Sometimes I feel that’s my favourite colour palate. I depend on my friends in the US to brighten my timeline. What you said about dreams is so true. It encourages me to keep sticking with mine.

    1. we also in many parts of India don’t see fall colors. I have heard up North, there are some but i haven’t seen. Until i see, I also yearn but feel content with photos. Thanks for joining, Andrea!

  2. There were times when I tried to stop being a dreamer, to focus on reality, but I no longer try to deny my true nature. As long as we work to help some of our dreams come true, dreams can bring much happiness. I’m so glad you got to see some fall colors up close and personal. Lovey picture of you and this tree! 3. This is simply gorgeous! I am happy for you, Parul. Seeing fall colors in person is an indescribable experience, isn’t it? Here in Phoenix fall colors have no place. But we get to catch the view if we drive two hours to the north. It’s a mesmerizing beauty indeed. In fact, we are going to one such place this Saturday.
I am also a dreamer. And I agree, dreams serve as the starting point. Either we ourselves, or the universe conspires to fulfill our most cherished dreams.
I love new the look and feel of your blog, Parul. Minimal and clean.

Now girl, start dreaming of the US west coast. 😉 We last met in KA, next in CA, ok?

Looking forward to more posts from your lovely work trip. (I saw some pics on IG. And I could sense the joy and love. 🙂

Thank you for hosting TTL and here are more trees in their fall colors — these from Lake Tahoe (an alpine lake, which lies on the California – Nevada border).

  6. That is wonderful your dream came true and you got to see fall colours, Parul. It sounded like a lovely trip to the US, although it was for work. You look so happy hugging that tree with such beautiful red, fall leaves. Beauty is certainly in the eyes of the beholder – it is what we make of it, appreciating what we have around us. Hope you are well 😊
