This sky and some reflections #5

I recently took a trip around the Sun. It was a lovely day and exactly how I prefer. With and around people who matter to me the most. It was also one of my most active days. I walked around a lake, ate the breakfast I relish and spent time with my folks.

Last month, I also returned from a work trip in the US and today’s sky shot is my wish for myself. A dear friend clicked this one for me (Thanks, CK!) and when I was looking into my archives this picture spoke to me in a different way,

We always wish each other what we think would bring them joy but here are a few things that would bring me joy as I get older:

  1. An opportunity to look up, admire clear skies and breathe in the fresh air.
  2. Being on my toes for as long as I can.
  3. Finding trees all along and admiring their beauty – in fall and otherwise.
  4. Being on journeys where I can learn and experience new things.
  5. Leaving behind grudges and forgiving myself along with others.
  6. Looking forward to better days with loved ones.
  7. Meeting new people and getting to know them.
  8. Staying grateful to what I have.
  9. Letting go what doesn’t matter and holding on to what does,
  10. Speaking up for myself.
  11. Finding small things that bring happiness.
  12. Being able to enjoy good food with friends.

My list can go on but these are those that matter to me today.

When you think of your trips around the Sun, are there any wishes that say out loud? Would you be willing to share here in the comments with me?

Every first Monday of a month, I will share with you a piece of sky that I see and some reflections. If that is something that strikes a chord with you, you are most welcome to join. There are no rules here. The next edition will be live on January 8, 2024.

  • If you are a reader, let me know what you think of the post and the reflections. Your comment will give me some food for thought.
  • If you are a blogger and would like to write – post a picture of your sky, write on your blog and leave a link here. Better if you can also link back to this post.
  • Last request – don’t forget to tell me the city and country where you clicked the picture.

Before you go, don’t forget to read the reflections and see the slice of sky posted on This sky and some reflections #4:

  1. This is such a lovely pic Parul. The railway track, the water around, the scattered cumulus clouds “cumulus humilis” and different shades of trees.
The picture is worthy of being converted into a cherished painting.
will soon share my Sky Love Link.

  2. This is such a lovely shot. Are those hills in the backdrop? It’s almost like someone dabbed green and rust paint. Hope you find many many more things to bring you joy.
