“What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.”
― John Steinbeck
I spotted an Amaltas Tree on a morning walk recently. Also known as Golden Shower tree, this one was in full bloom. This tree blooms during summers in the north of India colors up the road and streets.
Does it grow in your part of the world too?
Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on May 23, 2024. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.

Before you go, don’t forget to check the lovely trees shared on #ThursdayTreeLove -165

The Golden Shower tree is not hardy in most of the United States, including where I live. We know the sweetness of spring after winters of cold, ice and snow, and spring is so welcome. Here’s my post, which happens to be about celebrating our spring trees: https://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2024/05/pink-and-white-parade-thursdaytreelove.html Alana

That’s a stunning & beautiful tree Parul with all those cascading yellow flowers. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the Golden Shower Tree. My pingback didn’t show up so here’s the link to my post, a couple of Palm Trees in Launceston, Tasmania.
Kind regards, Tony

Welcome Tony! I’m sure your ping back is sitting in pending queue to be approved but good you shared here as well. I’ll check it out.
And yes, this tree does look like it’s showering yellow flowers 😊

Tony, i see that your blog has been deleted so I can’t see your post. will you be able to guide me to the link again?

I deleted it a few weeks ago. I have a comic strip blog & with the photography blog I found it too time consuming. I decided to just focus on my comics. I do occasionally post my photos to flickr https://flickr.com/photos/195232780@N03/

I love the Amaltas. It’s a beautiful tree with such a gentle fragrance. Back home we have entire lanes lined with it. I believe trees like this one flower in the summer only to make the heat bearable.

It is lovely, it looks like a laburnum tree. Maybe they are the same with a different name.

Amaltas or Golden Shower spread so much of positivity in scorching summer heat. I love these flowers a lot. They look beautiful even when fallen on ground like some art.
Hey, Parul, this time I’m twining with you on Amlatas. Here is my summer tree – https://praguntatwa.com/in-love-with-aamaltas-may-tree-love/
