International Blog Delurking Week – 2025

Sitting in my living room on a cold Sunday afternoon typing this, I am wondering that another year of life has gone by.

Like you already know, this post is an annual ritual on this blog when I ask readers to say hello and delurk this one full first week of January. So if you are a regular here or just stumbled upon, please tell me the city and country you are reading this post from.

In return, I will share a few things about this blog that only I know. Well, because this space is mine. Isn’t it?

So in no particular order yet all fun stuff, read on –

  • This blog will turn 12 years old in just two weeks. I started writing when I was dealing with a severe lower back issue and this space in turn healed me mentally.
  • I wrote 28 posts in 2024 that generated over 400 comments. Getting people to share what they feel is one reason I started writing and this number made me smile.
  • Thursday Tree Love continues to be live and tree lovers from around the world join. When I started this feature in February 2017, I did not know I will get the love I got for the last 7 and counting years. We now have over 175 tree love posts and tree lovers can see trees from many parts of the world. I am so glad this feature brought me closer to so many tree lovers.
  • In 2024, I also started Conversations over chai, which is just a personal take on things happening in life. I have more to build on this one but I love it gives me an opportunity to share life with readers.
  • I am glad I committed to writing more in 2024 and I did fine. Can I do better? Yes! Will I write more? Yes! Will you read and visit more often? I hope so.

There are more but I will stop here.

I would love for you to say hello and identify yourself.

Would you?

If you are a blogger and would like to join any time during the week, feel free to use the image above and link to this post. If you don’t see a pingback, please leave a comment with your post’s link. And guess what? I promise I won’t lurk.

  1. Good morning from Texas! Looking at “related posts” I’m now wondering why “International Blog Delurking Week” has been steadily shifting later and later each year… I guess this means I need to delurk, doesn’t it? I did the opposite last year – threw most of my old posts into a hidden archive, only to pull them out as they seemed to need revived. I meant to start fresh, so maybe I was just waiting for this occasion…

      1. You MIGHT see more of me if I didn’t have to log into WordPress to leave comments… 😉 (Just had to reset my password for the 65,487th time – each time requiring a code to my phone and the blood of a unicorn for no particularly good reason…) No, seriously, that “intentionality” resolution on my part has (I hope) helped to eliminate SOME of my inbox clutter. I’ve always been subscribed. I just don’t always SEE or respond to every email. Speaking of “lurking.”

      2. Ha ha! Not totally technology. I lost all my 2000 followers so now just a handful 15 people get notified. So it’s not lurking. It’s just technology 🤣

      3. How do you lose that many people??? Did you accidentally misplace them? Have you checked behind the desk, Parul? That’s where my keys always used to end up…

OK, I do not know what’s up, but every time I go to leave a comment here, it makes me log in AGAIN and enter a code from my phone. (Yours isn’t the only blog that does this, but … well, okay, I think I know how you lost people, now. Not your fault. Blame tech – no, blame JETPACK. (Are you using that? I am at war with it. And yes, I – and pretty much everyone else I know – have told them this to their face.)

  3. I love those conversations over chai. I want to start writing them as well. They are such a great way to connect and share without worrying about algorithm and keywords and editing.

  4. Hi Parul! I think 2024 was the year I published the least number of Tree posts, but I’ll try to change that this year. 🙂

Conversations over chai are always so lovely to read, and to write, aren’t they? They really capture the feeling of a face-to-face chat—I absolutely love them.

I’ll also be publishing a delurking post soon. Thanks for the reminder every year without fail. 🙂

  5. It’s always a pleasure reading your posts, Parul, be it your tree posts or chai ones. I’ve been fortunate enough to have been around in 2015 to have met you through your blog, which has always been an inspiration to me since those early days of blogging. But, I really loved meeting you in person, Parul and since that does not always happen often enough, I still think the second best way to meet you is through your lovely blog. Never a lurker here…I enjoy reading and always leave a comment for you whenever I stop by!

Wishing you a wonderfully creative year ahead, Parul and also, looking forward to your chai and treelove posts in the coming weeks!
