Over the last year, I have been pretty regular to blogging and I believe that writing just like reading opens up the mind. Sometimes, even when I am not writing, I am thinking about writing. Writing lets me see things in a different light and I do enjoy this one special thing about penning down thoughts. It is like meeting people and of course a social activity – you express your thoughts, somebody adds on to it and then you say more and the conversation goes on. You make friends and at times you move on. The medium of expression changes but towards the end what we do is sharing thoughts and beliefs.
Last evening when I started thinking about the various people that I have come to know since the beginning of this year, I felt good about variety of wonderful people I have added to my social circle. No, I am not talking about networking at all. Everybody out there in this BIG world is so different and there is so much to learn from the other being. My social circle is of the amazing people I know and not party with.
During the beginning of the year, I met NH on the virtual world. We both chatted a lot over mails and worked together. NH is a medical student, a blogger and a Wikipedian. She is a kid of 90s and her enthusiastic spirit and love for technology is something that keeps inspiring me. She is so young yet so focused. She had led many Wikipedia edit-a-thons and all this work happens when she gets back from her college. Like all of us she has 24 hours for herself and I really want to see how she finds time to do so many things every single day of her life.
VT – is a totally different person from Monday to Friday from 9am to 3:30pm. That’s the time when Indian Stock Markets open. His weekday mornings start with CNBC TV 18 and Udayan Mukherjee is his God! He chuckles at the stock market jokes and tries his best to be up to date with all price fluctuations that happen throughout the day. Even while running on a treadmill he keeps listening to the news. He might miss food and responding to wife’s email, but Google Finance is always in front of him. Secretly, he wishes that the markets could be open 24/7.
I also know of people who live by the day. A friend’s friend SS is a marathon runner. He looks up to Sundays since all the rest of the days he practices and then challenges himself to beat his own record on Sundays. The rest of his life revolves around which Sundays he is not running! I know of recruiters who in their sleep will be able to tell you if June 9, 2014 is Monday. Mondays are the days when new hires join and hence a recruiter can’t forget the Mondays. These days are targets achieved! Movie stars live by Fridays – that’s the day of releases and they get to know if their hard work paid off or not. People who work in supermarkets or other retail outlets look forward to weekends since these are the days of maximum footfall. IndiSpire regulars look forward to Thursdays as a new idea is born every Thursday.
Each one of us know so many other people and all their personal stories are all so unique and yet so similar. Even without saying a word sometimes, people say a lot by the way they look or react. Sometimes, even after saying a lot – words fall short to describe what one is going through. Reading between lines helps and confuses as well. After all – we are social beings and we do a lot more than just talk.
so true what you have said.. I started blogging a few years ago and I met so many good human beings, some became good friends , and as you said I know a lot of people and we share so much with each other just over net.. I have met a few personally tooo
Blogging has been kind to me .. I have come back after more than a year and now i ma meeeting some more new people.. sadly the ones who were with me all the time in the last 3-4 years seems to have moved on.. but then thats the way of life.. sometimes people say one thing on line and mean something else and do entirely different.. 🙂
take care and all the best 🙂

I liked that Stock Market guy. Reminds me of a friend who used to stop chatting with me at exactly 9 am. And run away to his Stock Market app. And then tell me to do the same!
Mahn, even though I’m a commerce student, I really don’t like tracking the ups and downs of the Market on a regular basis. Once in a while, yes. Not always!
I prefer catching up on blogs. And showering comment love. Even though I hardly get the time to write blog posts, I try and comment on all the blog posts of my favourite bloggers! 😀

I loved your sensitivity towards different people, your understanding that all are differently wired, and yet having that love for them. very few people understand that Parul. Most people expect others to behave just the way they are, and do things exactly the way it would please them!
I loved this ‘understanding’ part of your nature.

A lot of people have come into my life because of my blog. Most of them are amazing friends, even if the blog wasn’t in the picture. I love that blogging has brought me closer to large and kind hearted people like you.
