Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.

I had a chance to visit my school last week. After over 15 years, as I walked the corridors trying to find familiar things, I felt schools change and so do teachers. What remains are the lessons that each one of us learns. Those that are relevant even after a decade – of kindness, patience and love.
This post is Wordless Wednesday #40.
Very true. The lessons on kindness and compassion are relevant year after year. It’s wonderful to be back in the old school after years, isn’t it? Lovely click, Parul. 🙂

You know Parul, I can very closely relate to this wonderful feeling that you had on visiting your old school because I too did the same in Dec 2015 when I stepped into my old school in Jaipur. I felt so emotional standing by the classrooms which had so many stories to tell!

Such a wonderful feeling, Parul and one that I can totally relate to, as I too visited my old school in Jaipur last Dec and felt a rush of memories flooding me. It was so emotional! But, you’re right, I so agree with the beautiful caption.

Nostalgic! I did follow your FB posts on your visit to your school. I visited my school a few months ago and I wished those teachers of mine were still there. The memories were fresh but the atmosphere had changed completely.

I know what you mean.. Things change but memories are so fresh. I also feel that memories matter more than the change that’s on the outside. Won’t you agree?

Honestly, I dont know what I would feel if I were to walk down those corridors again. So many pleasant memories and moments but a sense of it all being bittersweet too.

Sometimes those bitter sweet memories hurt but then it was a phase. Right? Let it go, Roshan.

Amazing. Visiting school and college always brings back such memories that it feels like yesterday. I always make it a point to visit my Alma Mater in Pune, the first thing that I do.

yes it is absolutely true .whatever values a child learns ,remains same may be decades are over . change is a progressive symbol . if any thing does not move ahead it becomes like stagnated water .it happens in every field of life .

Things change but the feelings we have for school never do change. Even when I go past my old school I get that feeling of excitement with a tinge of intimidation. And it’s been so many many years.

I dream of my school corridor several times. (Sounds weird but yes, I do!) I wonder why, but there is some sort of deep nostalgia and connect that one has with these brick walls. Your post just reminded me of that dream 🙂
