We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Last Saturday, I went for a walk with my neighbor. She recommended this quick trail around a lake and I was game for the walk. It’s strange that this lake is just 15 minutes from where I live, yet I had never seen or visited. Nonetheless, Saturday was my lucky day.
This is a Mahogany tree from the lake side. If you see look closer, there are fruits on this tree which actually made me stop by, look closer and look up the name. It felt like a brown upside-down Avocado on the tree. Like you may know, Mahogany is known for its durability as a hard wood and used for furniture. This fruit makes an appearance once a year and while it is not edible, the shells can be used as a potting mixture for plants. Such a giving trees, isn’t it?

I’ve never seen a mahogany tree. I had a mahogany bedroom set when I was growing up. The wood was beautiful. I understand what is sold today is rarely the true wood. The fruits are interesting, too. My post for today took place in a park I had never been in, either. http://ramblinwitham.blogspot.com/2023/09/trees-in-love-thursdaytreelove.html

Lovely pictures of the trees. I’m sure I’ve seen these but have not been able to identify them. Oh yes — Mahogany furniture – (usually)heavy, strong and sturdy.
I have some Joshua Trees to show this week. 😉

Have seen Mahogany trees but seems I missed the fruit-bearing time. They look lovely. Trees are majestic and magical in every way.
