#ThursdayTreeLove – 153

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Walt Disney

Last Saturday, I went for a walk with my neighbor. She recommended this quick trail around a lake and I was game for the walk. It’s strange that this lake is just 15 minutes from where I live, yet I had never seen or visited. Nonetheless, Saturday was my lucky day.

This is a Mahogany tree from the lake side. If you see look closer, there are fruits on this tree which actually made me stop by, look closer and look up the name. It felt like a brown upside-down Avocado on the tree. Like you may know, Mahogany is known for its durability as a hard wood and used for furniture. This fruit makes an appearance once a year and while it is not edible, the shells can be used as a potting mixture for plants. Such a giving trees, isn’t it?

Thursday Tree love is a photo feature hosted on this blog on every 2nd and 4th Thursday of a month. The next edition will go live on October 12, 2023. If you would like to play along, post a picture of a tree on your blog, tell me where did you spot the tree and link it back to this post.
