Conversations over chai #2

Conversations over chai #2

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that I did not think I will not be able to show up here for over 60 days. Nonetheless, better late than never.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that I love quiet Sundays. I love that there is no rush that time is slipping by and that Monday is a few hours away. I love the anticipation that someone else (read VT) will make chai. I also know that by the time VT will be back, I would have craved for tea so much that I will put it on and let it simmer till the doorbell rings.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that I love long walks. Weekend mornings are best to go away to nearby lakes and parks to explore, get extra steps and in turn some oxygen.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that I have to clean and organize my kitchen. And here I am trying to share it out loud here but not getting it done. Not that I want this scheduled on calendar but I do think it will take up my Sunday evening that I don’t want to let go yet.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that it’s warm and sunny in Bangalore. The good thing is that streets are yellow and pink with flowers. This is what is our Spring. The not-so-good thing is that my plants need some shade and respite from the Sun.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that last weekend I was away celebrating UM’s milestone birthday. It was one lovely and different weekend for me. Lovely in the presence of some new and some old friends. Unique, because I have never been away from home when I am in Bangalore. I loved my time. We danced, hiked, had some delicious food and enjoyed the time we had away from household chores and family responsibilities.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you life seems to be moving at a super fast pace. It feels like we had kicked off 2024 yesterday and now we are in March. There are days I like the speed and then there are days, I would love some sailing.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that someone reached out to me to make flowers for them (crocheted flowers). It was a new project for me and at a time when I had a busy schedule. I said yes and ended up making a colorful spring bouquet that I am now very proud of. Click here to check it out.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that VT took me out to watch a few tennis matches in mid February and I loved the experience. It’s a sport that I have begun to enjoy.Since he plays, watching the game also lets us both be a part of something that we can do together.

If we were having chai together, I would tell you that this January I completed 11 years of blogging. This space has been my happy place for over a decade and writing is now very much an identity. While I am not as regular as I used to be, I am making it a point to get regular. If you have any tips, please do share.

If we were having chai together, what would you tell me?

Conversations over chai is my take on sharing a bit of life, reflections, learnings and gratitude with you. By now, you all know that chai is my favorite beverage and I hope we get to have chai together one day.

So join me by sharing something that you can and let’s talk.

  1. Hey Parul,

If you were having chai, I would join you with my coffee and I would tell you how the weather in Mumbai seems to be going crazy. In March, when summer begins to make its presence felt, we are shivering from the cold that’s coming all the way from up north. And as we Mumbaikars are not used to “cold”, we are enjoying every bit of it before it quickly makes a getaway and is replaced with the scorching heat.

I loved the crochet flowers you made, Parul. In fact, I love all of your crochet items. When do you find the time? 🙂

  2. I love your conversations over chai, Parul. You are doing amazing work with your crochet pieces. My sister recently started to crochet. I got some YouTube videos from Anamika for my sister to practice. I’ve also shared yours and Anamika’s insta page with her for motivation. She was saying you both are talented in crochet. And yes, I agree.

You have your kitchen to organize, I have my entre house to organize. I am in the process of decluttering. So many things to take to the donation center. But when I am not busy with other things in life, I am lazy and want to relax. 🙂

Congratulations on 11 years of blogging, Parul. I don’t have any tips. But it is always great to read your posts. Here’s to many more years of writing, blogging, and connecting. ❤️❤️

  3. I need to deep clean my kitchen too… it is one task that keeps getting procrastinated. Just the thought itself makes me tired. Congratz on 11 years. That is a wonderful milestone. I have seen some videos of flowers blooming in Bangalore this season. Oh it must be wonderful to walk past those beautiful trees. 😊

  4. I’d tell you that I enjoy your Chai posts. Spring in Bangalore sounds beautiful. Perhaps one day I’ll be in the city to witness it. Here’s wishing you have many more happy relaxed weekends.
